All the save data from every game I have ever played was deleted

Your game saves are stored on the cloud so the likelihood of all the saves being deleted are pretty small. I would try deleting your profile and adding it back to the console.

I've tried all of the above - and none work.

However, I've now fixed it... and I've done so by deleting all of the game-save data - so I can only assume that it's corrupt game-save data that's causing this.

It didn't work when I just deleted the local (hard disk) game data - as the next time the game started it simply re-syncyed from Xbox Live. I had to delete all game data "Everywhere" - and then the game started afresh, I'd obviously lost all progress and
achievements - but at least it's working again.

The detail for how to do this is quite easy, and I found it after a quick Google:

You can manage your data for individual games through My games & apps on your Home screen. Here’s how you do a "Delete everywhere":

From the Home screen, select My games & apps.

Highlight the game, press the Menu button on your controller, and then select Manage game.

Scroll to the right, highlight the saved data for your gamertag under Saved Data, and then press A on your controller.

You’ll be prompted to confirm deletion of this game save data:

Delete from console will remove the local copy of this save. You can retrieve it from the cloud the next time you play.

Delete everywhere will remove your saved data from this console, the cloud, and all other consoles you play on.

Cancel will leave your data intact.

as far as I'm aware, deleting specific game saves can only be done when the game in question is installed. These save files are extremely small in size and won't ever have any impact on your storage capacity. If you would still like to delete the file for
peace of mind, the only suggestion I can think of is to re-install the game and then follow the steps below:

How do I delete saves that I no longer need?

You can manage your data for individual games through My games & apps on your Home screen. Here's how:

1. From the Home screen, select My games & apps.
2. Highlight the game, press the Menu button on your controller, and then select
   Manage game.
3. Scroll to the right, highlight the saved data for your gamertag under Saved Data, and then press

4. You’ll be prompted to confirm deletion of this game save data:
   • Delete from console will remove the local copy of this save. You can retrieve it from the cloud the next time you play.
     
   • Delete everywhere will remove your saved data from this console, the cloud and all other consoles you play on.

<Select Manage game and add-ons > Saved data.

Select Delete all to remove the local save of this game, then follow the prompts.

After you delete the local save, restart your Xbox:

Press and hold the Xbox button in the centre of your controller.

Select Restart console, then follow the prompts.

If i do this, all saves will be delete and and I have to play the game from the beginning?

I recently bought Valhalla and I’ve been grinding the game and have purchased cosmetics. At a certain point it started telling me it could not sync data and I needed to delete all of my saved data, but it only happens when I play assassins creed Valhalla. I’ve already tried deleting my saved data from Xbox, and unplugging everything.
