Also check to see you are not blocking the vents and over heating it. Rumor is the reason the xbox 360 was so good is because it is an overclocked processor. Any heat stress at all, and it freaks out and shuts down to prevent a meltdown. Just a rumor.
But heat is a big problem.

If they were to say heat was the cause, then they would be wrong. The main cause was a poorly designed cooling system (Small Heat-Sink), then lead-less solder, and the X-clamp over the motherboard = Heat being the result, but not the cause of the issues
that Microsoft KNEW about, but sent the 360 out to market regardless

2 red rings means its over heating if the warranty is gone i would suggest opening it and cleaning out all of the dust, that will fix it

Heat is entirly normal.

However unlike others have speculated, the Series S is designed with a giant vent right above the heat sink for a reason, to get the heat out. Depending on what game you’re playing and whst. You’re doing, more heat is generated
