All of my Xbox One games are gone

Keep in mind that I buy all my games physically. I have an external 2TB hard drive that I have been using as my base storage unit. I turn on my Xbox and find that all of my games are gone. The ones that I’ve downloaded have been moved to “Ready to
download” and all my physical disc games are just plain gone. I’ve restarted the console many times but nothing has worked. Then I find that my external hard drive isn’t even listed in the “my games and apps” section. I’ve tried unplugging the external storage
unit and plugging it back it but that hasn’t worked either. I fear that I’m going to lose all my saved data. Can someone please help me out?

Sorry to hear about the issue with the games not showing up on the console. Let's have you try to Power Cycle the console and see if that helps first.

All my games are gone

After the recent update, all my games have disappeared from my external hard drive. In system setting storage, it list the external hard drive and says 242.3 GB of 2.8tb free. But under my games and apps it shows no games on the external hard drive only
the games on the internal hard drive.

Thanks for reaching out to us with this issue. First of all, don't worry about your saves for your game. Your saves, digital purchases, achievements, etc. are automatically saved to your profile so long as you have internet connection/connection to Xbox
Live servers and are attached to your profile in the cloud. What appears to have happened is that there is something going on with your external storage device and it being recognized by your console.

I recommend using our support article,
Troubleshoot external storage detection on Xbox One, to determine what may have happened. Give the steps in the article a try and let us know the results.

Well im glad all my saved data will still be there, but i tried all the options in the link you gave me but my xbox still wont detect it

 

You may want have to try connecting it to a PC and reformatting it back to factory defaults and make sure the File Format is set to NTSF. Then check if the console will detect it after its wiped clean. You will need to reinstall all your games but as previously
stated your progress and stats will be recovered from the cloud.

As per XBF George, try connecting it to a PC and reformatting it back to factory defaults and make sure the File Format is set to NTSF. For more information, check out this article:

If you go the start menu on your PC and search for Disk Management you can maybe see if the PC sees it at all or if it has failed. If Disk Management can see it, you could try and partition and format it again, but let's do first things first. Let us know
the results.

Thanks for the reply.

If your PC is not recognizing the External Hard Drive, the USB cord may be affected that goes from the PC to the Drive. I recommend trying to find another compatible USB cable for the External Hard Drive.
