All games and DLC digitally bought on previous broken console lost on new backup console?

Hi, recently I had to switch my Xbox 360 for a backup because it was broken. On the broken 360, I had bought many games, through Games on Demand and Arcade, including DLC. I have bought a lot on my old account, and my new account, in which before I switched
consoles, all the games and DLC were accessible after I had my new account, which is what I am using now.

Upon the console breaking, I took out the HDD and placed it into the backup. Everything was fine, just until I wanted to play one of the games I had purchased before the old console breaking, in which it said "Unable to start game". To my curiosity, I tried
every single game that I had bought and to my surprise, all the games that I had bought digitally were giving me the same error.

I have checked many threads concerning this issue, including ones that said to go in "Purchase History" and "Download History", but upon doing so, all purchases made before the switch simply says "Content Not Available".

This is a really frustrating, since I paid approximately over $500 worth of games and DLC, and I do not want to go ahead and purchase everything again.

    Hopefully this can be solved.

    :)

    Thank You Xbox for nothing.......

It sounds like you bought a used Xbox and the previous owner bought a new/different Xbox, once he made that new one his home console, you lost access to the previous games. At least, that's my educated guess on the matter.

    Owning two different Xbox ones

Just add the original profile onto the new Xbox and then create a new profile fir yourself on the new Xbox and make the broken Xbox the Home Console and you can share games plus Xbox Live over both consoles as long as they are bought digitally

Also you can add your new profile to the broken Xbox if you wish you can have the old profile and new profile on both Xbox's

    Sorry to hear it.

You say that you are using a new account. This suggests that the content was not originally purchased using that account. If this is the case be sure to start a License Transfer using the tag that originally purchased the content then redownload all the
    items from the Download History.

Here's a link on how to do the License Transfer. support.xbox.com/.../download-content

You can redownload the content by going to Settings>Accounts>Download History. There is no need to delete the items prior to redownload. The new download will only move the licenses over.

If you've lost your other gamertag due to a ban then I'm afraid there's nothing that can be done about that as any and all content associated with a gamertag is considered forfeit when a ban occurs.

Yes, my other account was banned. But the problem is that after I got banned, I was still able to use the things that I had purchased on my banned account. So why not on this new console?

The reason for this is because the licenses for the games and DLC were still attached to the old console. Now that that console has died you've had to switch. The licenses do not follow the hard drive but only the gamertag that originally purchased them.

I'm afraid that, in this case, you'll have to repurchase the content that you would like to play.

    Onyi is correct

When you change the console you would either havr to do a license transfer using thr original account to the new console to use it offline

The new console would only access the content while thw original account is signed into live without a license transfer

Since you are banned permantely you forfeit all online rights including download from thr original profile

So if I get my original Xbox repaired, can I get my stuff back?

Not necessarily. If you decide to pay for the console to be repaired through normal means (xbox support) then odds are they may send you a refurbished console.

If you go through other means to have the console repaired then you run the risk of having the console banned from live due to tampering.
