    All games and Data gone from External Hard Drive.


    Just got on my xbone today to play terraria and when I clicked on the app, I was sent straight to the store which is weird because I know I transfered the game to my Ex. HD. After that, I decided to go try it from the My games and apps tab. What I found
    was everything I had transferred is completely gone. It's not even on the internal drive. I long-pressed the power button on the console - that didn't work. I unplugged and plugged back in the drive - same thing. What's make me wonder is that the drive is
    up to 100% used when I remember I only used 18% of it. The drive I have is a Xbox one Seagate 2TB Hard-drive. Bought it from Amazon.

    Lost all of my saved game data

    So i transfered all my games to an external hard drive in case of a fire, in never put my saved game data on the cloud or backed up my xbox. So after i transfered all the games over i was very stupid in thinking that the external hard drive could how both
    ps and xbox game data so i plugged it into the ps4 to save my new spider man game on it. After that i plugged it back into my xbox one and all of the saved game data was gone. Is there anyway to get all that saved game data back without having to play through
    all of my games again?

    Okay here's the situation I have a 120g hard drive on my OLD Xbox Elite and I have run out of space and with all these games for gold I need a bigger hard drive. So in a couple day's I'm going out and getting a 250gb external hard drive for my OLD (I can't
    stress that enough) Xbox elite and I want to transfer all the data from my current hard drive to the new hard drive. I only have 1 system and I'm not upgrading to an Xbox slim. How can I go about transferring the data from my old external hard drive to my

    System Update Recommend Transferring all game saves and files to external hard drive and using the working internal hard drive as a back up drive that way the game saves and files are portable and you don't lose any data from the internal hard drive.

    So some games on my xbox were non transfering from my internal hard drive to my extern hard drive. I tried a hard reset and plugged the external hard drive to a new USB port. These options didn't work. I then went to the external hard drive section in storage
    and clicked format hard drive. Understandably everything on there was uninstalled. My question is will my saved game data be there when I have reinstalled the games? For example story progression or unlocked characters?

    Just to clarify!

    Your game save data are save on your local hard drive and on the cloud if you login on Xbox Live (online)

    So don't worry you can delete the games on your external hard drive and the save data are safe on you local hdd or cloud. When you install the game again you will download automatically the save sada from the cloud or get the one of your hard drive!

    No, Microsoft has not sent any signals remotely to disconnect your external hard drive. External hard drives are slower than internal hard drives and much slower than SSD and even slower compared to newer SSD's. This happened because there was too much data being used too much on the external hard drive and it couldn't hold up either because the game is heavy or because the external hard drive like all things tends to get worse over time until it checks out at the end of its useful life. To prevent this from happening again, graphically leave heavier games in the console's internal memory and move lighter games to the external hard drive.

    unless you have game saves in cloud storage (need to be a gold memeber for that ) there is no way to recover any data from the hard drive

    once its formatted all the information is gone
