All game captures deleted

Haven't been on my xbox in a week or two, and then when I get on again all of my captures on my hard drive, meaning the "on this xbox" section of the captures menu, were gone. I had tons and tons of very important clips, and a lot of them were not uploaded
to xbox live, meaning I'm not sure how they'll be recovered.

Xbox chat support said they might be autodeleted, but it doesn't make sense that all of my video files were cleared out at once if there was a problem with space. Also there is no option to "save" clips, people keep saying that's what you have to do if you
don't want them auto deleted,further more there's NOTHING indicating that gigs of clips will just be deleted without warning. Also, if "saving" clips is indicated by uploading them to xbox live or one drive, all of my clips that I did upload to xbox live or
one drive don't appear "on this xbox" either.

Very upset.

Recover deleted game captures

I ran out off room on my Xbox storage so I went to delete some captures (I know now this doesn't work) and I deleted them all by accident. is there any way to recover them or are they gone forever. Thank you

Strange Error Code 0x87b20c19

Nevermind, I deleted all my captures by following the troubleshooting guide. That fixed it.

Have you recently factory reset your console or anything like that? What what the last thing you did before you noticed them missing?

Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary, besides the fact that my xbox live ran out and I had to get a new subscription. Other than that I just played games and used apps as usual.

Hmm, very interesting indeed. Are you in the Xbox One Insider Program? If you create a new clip right now does it save properly? After you create clips, are you saving them manually? If you do take a lot of clips they will automatically delete over time,
but only when you run out of space. Clips that are permanently saved on the console don't fall into that category though.

Resetting your console will delete all captures and game clips

I am very sorry for what you are going through, Yes, game captures on Xbox Network are also saved in the internal storage of the console.

In fact, screenshots are always saved to the console's internal storage, even if they are not uploaded to the Xbox network.

This means you can download game captures from your console even if you no longer have access to the Xbox network.

To download game screenshots from your console, follow these steps:

Open the Guide.

Select Capture and Share.

Select All Captures.

Select the capture you want to download.

Select Download.

Game screenshots will be downloaded to the "Captures" folder on your console.

If you want to delete game captures from your console, you can do so by following these steps:

Open the Guide.

Select Capture and Share.

Select All Captures.

Select the capture you want to delete.

Select Delete.

Deleted game captures will be permanently removed from your console.
