Alien Isolation (Win 10) won't let me play with a different account/profile.

Hello again, there are no problems the way you're playing, what I can imagine is your PC for some reason being saving the cache of the first account you play and not letting play with the second.

Make sure your PC is up to date with the latest version of Windows installed.

Updates often seen as optional, Microsoft released major fixes this week, and make sure you have the Xbox Companion App installed.

If you haven't updated yet, click the link below, update and then make all subsequent security updates.

Also make sure all Xbox Apps are up to date in the store.

After that include the secondary account on the PC, going to:

Settings»Accounts»Email & Accounts»Accounts Used by other apps»Add account.

Hello Jaj, this is really weird because on PC, you can not share account or games, witchmeans the license of the game you want to play has to be in the account that is logged into the Xbox App on the PC.

What I can imagine is that there was some kind of bug in the cache that allowed you to play the game on an account that does not have the game license.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that the game is a gamepass game and both accounts have a gamepass subscription.

The PC actually belongs to a friend who I'm staying with for a few months. He recommended the game after completing it and I figured I'd try to get the achievements while I'm here (the PC version of Alien Isolation has a separate achievement/gamerscore to the console version). I referred to it as my PC for simplicities sake but in retrospect it's probably important information to diagnose the problem.

Both our accounts have their own gamepass subscription so there shouldn't be any licensing issue. I'm just using his hardware to play the game, but I'm pretty certain there's no rule against that?

Even if that account is signed into the Xbox app and the win 10 store? The account with XGP is on 2 different user accounts on my computer. Some games have let me play them such as Sea of Thieves and The Outer Worlds.

"Alien: Isolation" is an excellent game and a very long one.

"Sunset Overdrive" is a different kind of game and might lend itself better to different kind of moods.

You can concentrate really hard in "Sunset Overdrive" but you can also casually fly about the city.

There is no relaxing in "Alien: Isolation" because the Alien wants to eat your face.
