Seen ( not read ) quite a few reviews around now. Seems to be mostly around 8s and 9s, one down at 6.

Looking forward to it myself.

I copied and paste that from another forum btw, I don't bother with reviews, I would still have bought it if they all gave it a bad score, just because I like what I see from the gameplay videos.

 

I think the guy wanted a shooter more like Dead Space and didn't see the difference.

have to admit, i wasnt overly impressed at EGX - graphically i think it looks superb though

 

^^ Didn't read the whole review but I can understand his opening point. This game had me really interested until I played Outlast. Now I LOVED Outlast, it was creepy and really had me on edge BUT towards the end I started to notice I was getting bored. That's
what started to turn me off from this Alien game, it looks good but I can't see myself enjoying that type of gameplay for 15-20 hours. Outlast was perfect because when I started to feel fatigue from hiding, kiting and running it was about over.

I'm sure Alien Isolation is a good game but I can definitely see how some are turned off by it also. This is definitely a preference thing.

 

Never trust IGN, they are the worst gaming site going, they only give big scores when they receive backhanders. I'll stick to Eurogamer.

 

The reviews are promising which is good. I'm sure some of them are biased because they are fans of Alien. Depending on how long it is I'll either buy it or rent it. If it's only a few hours I'll rent it.

 

The biggest downside I see so far like Length. Like Action games, Horror games don't do too well if they last too long.

As much as I love the Alien franchise, I will have to skip this for now and pick it up when it hits the bargain bin for my Xbox 360 because while I do appreciate what this game is attempting to do; this game will always be a First Person Shooter to me

the extra length actually appeals to me, if I am getting into a game im often reluctant to play it too much if its a shorter game cos I don't want it to end
