When using the kinect is it granular, or more like a one step lean if you were leaning with the controller?

It's like looking yourself.

You activate the lean by holding down LB.

It works perfectly. You'll look as fast or as slow as you're leaning and it's very smooth.

To straighten up, just straighten up... or release LB.

You can still lean with the sticks even if you have this set up to use Kinect for leaning.

Inside closets you'll probably use a combination of both your body and the controller to get the best views.

Like Az has said, avoiding them is the best towards the beginning and there is generally always a way around them until you're closer to the end where some parts you have to fight them (you will be well equipped though so don't worry about that), but the
best way I've found at taking them down without using too much materials is;

Right after the area you're in you'll find a 'shock baton' (can't miss it, makes you get it) or something to that effect, if you walk up to them with that equipped, aim with LT and smack with RT they will be shocked, proceed to spam RT which will be the
melee attack of the standard 'jack' or whatever it is, 3 to 4 hits and they're down for the count. EMP's is another way of that method, you can smack a group of 3 to 4 down with 1 EMP and your jack.

Also remember when they grab you, all you will have to do is spam A and then run away, they only power walk and once you're out of sight and hide, they will return to their post.

I've finished the game and am half way through my hard playthrough and haven't died yet. Not sure when I'll go back though, want to pick up some new games today!

 

Playing this game on "hard" is pretty difficult. lol

It's really fun though and I'm really early in the game. I've only seen the Alien once or twice and I just met the working Joes.

The kinect works really well even in the dark. It's a really good game.

That's cool. I've been playing this game in VR. Cool they can cross the mechanics like that.

 

The atmosphere in this game is second to none. It's a great game. The Kinect makes it so much better.

 

Contemplating getting this game soon but from some of the reviews I've read have me worried about it. I've heard it has a 14-20 hour story mode but that after the 8-10 hour mark it starts to become repetitive and they sort of throw everything at you which
kills the claustrophobic, fear vibe it had going for it. Is this true?

 

I haven't played it that long yet, but I can see it becoming a little repetitive.

 

During Chapter 5 where you find the Medical Trauma Kit and the Alien basically kills you to death... again and again and again... I found myself wondering if I could keep this up for 18 chapters... but it's been evolving well.

Maybe it will go that way at the end, we'll have to see. Definately getting my money's worth and more from this game.

It's hard to nail a big finnish in a game like this so we'll have to see what they throw at me.

Possible spoilers ahead for anyone just starting.

I think I may be on that mission right now, just found my crew member and a guy. I need to go find a doctors pass and eventually a medkit. Spent about 2 hours on it yesterday and the Alien just kept killing me in various ways . The final straw for yesterdays
session was I was literally within sight of the exit back to the station. The Alien dropped out of a vent right in front of me.

I didn't spot a table and had nowhere else to go so I quickly bobbed in the vent. The motion tracker was stuck on 32 metres and I waited an age, no movement at all. So exited the vent to head to the door and BAM!!!!!!, it was behind me in the vent. Don't mind
saying I jumped like a frog on a hotplate. But it was the death bell for yesterdays attempt lol.

But yeah loving it, yes its a little repetitive but I really can't complain the team have nailed the feel, I reckon it has already taken a few months off my life with being so on edge all the time . In the best way though.

Nice one buddy sounds good and again thanks for the help it's appreciated. Really enjoying the game but definitely felt I would benefit from a little guidance so much appreciated.

I am looking forward to getting a hold of something I can use to defend myself, even if it's only to give me time to run (quietly) like the clappers. The stun baton sounds extremely helpful though. Up til now I only managed to get one hit on the joe's and they
are clobbering me again. Especially when there are 2 of them. I forget about the line of sight because I am panicking . Will try the head-shot too, I am guessing that's going to attract unwanted visitors sometimes?.

Will be nice having the option to just deal with them and move along.

I generally avoided running with the Alien about. I got through a section the other day with 2 Joe's in a corridor. I must was have spent 20 minutes just looking and watching, finally nailed the section and again was just near the exit. Next thing I know our
little friend is dropping out a vent directly on my head because I freaked out and ran. It was another pad crushing moment, the dev's have really got that right hehe.

I want the flamethrower and some molatov's if only for a false sense of security . I recently acquired the prints for a pipe bomb, but have not salvaged enough to make one. Hopefully I will get the stun baton soon, sounds like I am close. Been stuck on this
section for 3 days so can not wait to get moving along I want to see where the story goes. that is really what is keeping me going with it .

I have to ask how is the play-through on Hard?, I don't know if it is something I would attempt really my nerves can't take it. Nicely done not dying so far, when I saw that one on the achievement list it felt instantly impossible .

 

I finally made it to level 7. I'm playing on hard, but it's actually starting to seem a little easier. I crouch to entire time though. I'm sure once I get a little further it will get really hard again.
