Alien: Isolation gets a "nightmare" mode via an update

This is certainly good news. The game will be even better when it's more intense. And for the scardy-cats out there, don't worry, there is an even easier mode now as well.

Nightmare - This "should challenge players to beat the ultimate Alien: Isolation experience." Your motion
tracker display will be damaged and undependable, while resources will be even more limited. On top of that, map systems are offline and the Alien is smarter than ever before.

So, who is gonna give this game another run through for the ultimate survival experience?

Alien Isolation is one of the few Games this Gen that was worth every dime and then some. I would love for the Devs to take a crack at a "real" Aliens Game.

 

I dont think i could cope, I felt like a chestburster was on its way out of me a few times playing on normal! Great great game!

 

Yeah, hard mode was pretty tough in parts, but easy in other sections. I'll welcome nightmare mode with open arms. Once you get the flamethrower it does make it a little to easy when the Alien is near. I'm sure fuel canisters will be few and far between
now though.

 

Did you find the Alien became less fazed about the fire the more you used it, when I was first using it the Alien would scuttle away and be gone for ages, there was a section towards the end when the thing was just backing off up the corridor just out
reach and I swear it was like it was deliberating on whether or not the risk outwieghed the reward of munching me. The Alien AI is one of the best ever, totally unpredictable.

 

I'm gonna play this game eventually. But too many games came out at once and I'm still trying to get caught up. It'll be a while, but I'm glad there will be more modes waiting for me when I'm ready

 

@ Genchy, yes I did notice that same exact thing. It was a very tense game. the most tense I've ever played even more so than Outlast. At least the facehuggers only took a small burst of flames.

 

I dont think i could handle another playthrough anytime soon amazing game though

 

@Brand thanks god it wasnt just me! It kinda freaked me out when it did it the first time!

@Doc I know exactly how you feel, the relief when the game ended was palpable but in a really good way.

 

I'm still half way through my hard run, I had to stop because it was just too intense. I still haven't died on that run yet either, but I'm doing the hard modes of the evil within at the moment so not sure when I'll get back around to this one.

 

Oh heck no! This game almost gave me a heart attack the first time. But really, I already know the story, I know the twists... it maybe harder to progress, but I don't think it'll be any scarier.

Also did you complete it on hard? I originally did Medium and then I tried on hard and the Alien is actually 10x more intense, it drops out of no where and will stay in an area for ages before it gives you a break to sneak by.

I can't even imagine what the intensity levels of the Alien will be on the next mode up!

 

i have not yet got an update on my 360 anyone else having this issue
