Alien: Isolation, a good alien game?

i just watched the ign gameplay breakdown video and i gotta say it sounds pretty awesome. obviously i'm nervous in the wake of colonial marines, but this isn't a shooter based on aliens, it's a survival horror based on the original alien...literally, the
alien is based on the original h.r. giger xenomorph only bigger. should we be worried about another crapfest, or might we actually see an alien game worthy of our money and admiration?

The video I saw looked both good and corny at the same time. There were simply a lot of "jump scares", but there were some tense moments too, like trying to cut open some metal, not knowing if the alien is behind you and the airlock breaking open. However,
the parts where the shadow moves across the screen and the character just goes "AHHHH" is really corny.

 

I'm quite looking forward to it! It looks like the kind of Alien game I always wanted....but didn't know I wanted....if that makes any sense?

It reminds me of Clock Tower.

 

I think there is room for the action oriented Aliens games where you just shoot stuff as a Colonial Marine and room for the much more dark, somber, survival horror Alien game.

This game looks like what Aliens Colonel Marines could have been. Theres very little info on it you though.

Agreed, I feel like you'd have to try to do that. Also Gearbox is not involved so there is a positive.
