album art and music file info (meta data) of music files downloaded from mix radio are missing ...

You can update the meta data on your collection if you are looking to apply proper song names and album art to your files. You can do this by going in to the My Music and clicking on Open or Play Something. From there, navigate to the area where your music
files are stored. Select each file you wish to edit and then click Open in the bottom right corner. then click on My Music and right click on the files you wish to edit on the next screen. On the bottom of the screen, you will then see a Match Album Info option.
From there simple select the proper info to apply. Hope this helps. Thanks!

Have you tried to edit track info via the file manager. Right clicking and then editing the info under the “properties” tab should help you do this. Also have you tried syncing the meta data on the albums in question by clicking on My Music and then right click
on the album in question and click on the Match Album Info at the bottom of the screen. Then select the album and song title from the available data that best matches the album in question. Let us know if this is able to help get your album data situated.

I am having the exact same problem with my large music collection.

Xbox Music also seems to "forget" music from my library that it previously identified. It will report the non-DRM files as "unknown artist," and then re-download the same tracks. Sometimes it even "forgets" music it downloaded itself, and then downloads
extra copies.

After tinkering more than I care to admit with Xbox Music, I think that the software is simply buggy and unfinished at this point. Unlike the Zune software, Xbox Music seems unable to actually tag music files in any way to link them with Marketplace content.
If your music library files change in any way Xbox Music will forget any album matching you have done, and may not even read the tags. For this reason I wouldn't spend much time using the "match album info" feature.

I think that the only thing to do is wait for MS to update the software.

[/quote] ok i didnt know about that 'Match Album Info', so thanks for that. But, what happens in that if the Music app has decided to 'break' an album up? As in i have Quadrophenia (remixed and remastered version) which is a 2 cd set. The Music app see's
it as

• 1 disc with tracks 1,3,4,6,9 and 13 on
• 1 disc with tracks 11,15 and 16 on
• 1 disc with tracks 7 and 11 (same track 11 as previous disc by the way)
  
• 1 disc with tracks 2,2c5,5,6,7,8,8,9,10,10,11,12,12,13,14,14,15 and 17.
  

so, seeing as it cant even differentiate between disc 1 and 2, what would happen if i attempted to use the 'Match Album Info'? Bit reluctant to just try it, in case it goes mental and i end up with another 4 entries for 1 album!!!!

Hmm, that's an interesting one! When you redownloaded it, where were you getting it from? Directly from the Marketplace? Or did you get it from a CD or another music download service? Either way we can still take care of this! If it's from the marketplace,
please try redownloading it specifically from that marketplace.

Otherwise the steps will be a little longer! What we need to do is navigate to wherever you have the files stored in your system. Then hit the Open button (usually in the bottom corner.) Then click where it says "My Music >" right under the Xbox Music logo.
That should open up a screen showing you your music- right click on the one not showing the right metadata and then go to "Match Album Info." You should be able to pick the correct album art from there!
