Age restriction on Xbox insider program

Hey there,

Only Adult accounts are able to sign up or enroll in the Xbox One Insider Program. To clarify, once you're accounts birthday reaches the age of majority in your country, you'll be able to enroll.

As the Xbox Insider Program allows for substantial feedback opportunities from users, Xbox wants its users to be of legal age. The Windows Insider Program on Windows 10 is the same way. The Insider Program gives incredible amounts of feedback to Xbox and
Microsoft, and so they most likely want their responding members to be of age.

It sounds like you're running into an issue trying to obtain account that is restricted to accounts over the age of 18. I see you mention that you set your email to be above the age of 18 but the marketplace looks at the date of birth that is set on the
Xbox Live account at creation. If that DOB is under the age of 18, you will be unable to make the purchase using your account. The only way for that date of birth to change to one over the age of 18 is for it to "age out" naturally. Meaning, no one can go
in and change the date of birth on your Xbox Live account.

The reason your son only has the 1.12 version of the game is that is currently the only public release of the game. 1.13 is the beta version of the game. You sign up for it through the Xbox Insiders program, which has a age restriction as it request regular
feedback from the account holder that is playing on the console.

Please try the following steps and let me know if that helps you:

1. On Xbox One or a Windows 10 PC, sign in with the account that registered for the Minecraft Beta and launch the Xbox Insider Hub.
2. Navigate to Insider content > Minecraft (or Minecraft for Windows 10 on PC)
3. Select Manage.
4. Use the radio button to select Unenroll (Leave this preview), then select Done.
5. Wait an additional 30-60 minutes after unenrollment completes (Pending no longer appears in the Xbox Insider Hub).
