Hello There I'm a 22 year old gamer I was just wanting to know when I try and do stuff such as upload a custom gamer pic it says "For custom images, you need to be older." just asking when can I access these ability's or what I have done wrong or need to
do.

Age cannot be changed on Xbox Live. When you become legal adult in your country the option to promote your account to adult will become available. If you start over nothing can be moved including content (season pass items are on that gamertag). You can
change your privacy & online settings to adult and to enable purchasing. This has to be signed off by the parental password that set up the account though.

Promote a child account to an adult account in Xbox

Xbox LIVE determines whether an account is a child account or an adult account based on the age of the account owner. Account owners who are younger than 18 are given child accounts in the United States. The legal adult age varies by country and region (for

Child accounts are tied to an adult's Microsoft account. The adult account can control Family Settings and restrict some features of Xbox LIVE.

To promote a child account to an adult account

What you would need to do is sign in at account.microsoft.com/family with the account that is considered the parent for your account and remove your account from the family as a child account that would make it an adult account under its own family and allow
you to do things like custom gamer pics.

That will work only if when your account was setup the date of birth has reached its 18th birthday if it hasn't and you remove yourself from the family you will not be able to sign into your account till you are added either to another family as a child
or added back to the original one.
