AGE OF EMPIRES THE CONQUERORS VERSION 1.0

Months ago, i used to play Age of empires the conqueros version 1.0 on GameRanger. The thing is that suddenly, one day it just stopped working. What i can play, is version 1.5 or 1.0c without any problem, totally fine. I've format the PC, reinstall the game from differents links, used portable version, changed properties as much as i could, everything. It's kinda random because touching settings it opens and runs, but after i close it and run it again, it doesnt work. The problem is that it stays black and get close, or i have to restart the pc. This issue is offline and online to clarify. I think some windows' update is related. I've shared install setup with others pc and it works perfectly, but my pc can't.

Specs: R5 3400g - Prime B450M-A - 16GB RAM

Everything is up to date.

I think some file is messsing it (but like i said, i did format pc and reinstall all properly. I couldnt find any forum about it, seems new.

About how long ago did it start crashing? I will investigate further on my end and see if it lines up with an update or anything. However, Worlds Edge will have more details on previous editions of the title for sure. Let's try to attack this from as many angles as possible to get you helped.

I ve been playing for 4 years at least and no issue at all. It started this 2021, maybe on April. I didnt mind much because i use 1.5 mostly, but there are a lot of players who use 1.0 and i'd like join their room.

I installed windows 11 (i had Windows 10) to see if it was related. I heard many people complaing about this same problem, and some solved with some options, but none of these helped (using service pack 3 and others, change resolution, format, update drivers, run as admin, use another executable and installer, download patches, change settings from regedit, sfc /scannow. If you need any pc specs, any info, i ll glady give it.

Sorry to hear about your issues with Age of Empires. Let's see what we can do to get you the help you need.

Just a heads up but we cannot troubleshoot items pertaining to third party software, such as GameRanger. I would recommend engaging their support team in this matter, if you haven't already, to help out with that side of things. It's possible that an update on their end or on Windows end cause a break in functionality and we can't tell that from our end because we don't have access to the development side of GameRanger.

I would also recommend reaching out to the Age of Empires team here to get their input on a solution for you to play an older version of their game. However, we highly recommend playing the most up to date version of a release as it is the most secure and usually incorporates a lot of fixes that wouldn't be available in previous versions. Just click the submit a request button in the top right-hand side to submit a request to the team.

Just to clarify, GameRanger is not related due to the game doesnt start even offline.

I've a lot of friends who used my installer without problems. The error that sometimes pop-up, is directdraw. I installed the last version of it, also the previous one like 9.0.

Unfortunally it does not give any crash log. I'll try to contact age of empires anyway, but im pretty sure that the issue is related to some upgrades of windows.

I played for months this 1.0 version, and one day, it just stopped working, just because.
