Age of Empires IV won't play or verify

    Age of Empires IV won't play or verify


    I am on a Windows 10 PC and am trying to play AoE4 through the xbox PC game pass. I have been able to play it but when I reboot my PC it starts giving me errors (I dual boot with Ubuntu in case that helps). When I try to play the game it gives me error 0x803F8001. I have tried to "verify and repair" the game but that gives me error 0xc0ea000a. I have tried all of the solutions from this other forum and none of them worked. I only have the one windows account, so I can't log out of anymore accounts:

    How do I fix this? Please don't give me repeat suggestions from the linked discussion, I've tried them several times and they don't fix the issue.

    Only those enrolled in the open beta had access to the game from September 17th, at 1 p.m ET through Monday, September 20th, at 1 p.m. ET. However, The game will officially launch on October 28 with Xbox Game Pass.
