    Age of Empires IV stuck on loading screen


    recently upgraded to WIN11 and AOEIV will no longer play. I reloaded the game and checked firewalls. The campaign and online modes start but then never get past the load screen. Also disabled background apps (like iCUE) with no luck.

    anyone else having this issue?

    thanks. i started with them and after running through a bunch of things, they said to contact Microsoft Store Support

    thanks for the quick response. unfortunately these steps didnt' work for me. game starts up and goes to full loading but never starts playing.

    Hi and thanks for reaching out. I hope you’re doing well. I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you and I'll be happy to help you.

    Please try the steps below to try to fix the issue :

    * Please sign out of the following:

    Xbox app, MS store, and PC

    * RUN WINDOWS STORE TROUBLESHOOTER

    1. Click on Start and select Settings.

    2. Choose Update and security.

    3. Click on Troubleshoot option.

    4. Scroll down and click on Windows Store Apps and click on Run the Troubleshooter.

    The troubleshooter will scan the system for any problem related to the Windows Store and recommend fixes accordingly.

    * RESET THE XBOX APP, MICROSOFT STORE & GAMING SERVICES

    1. Click Start and click Settings.

    2. Select Apps on

    3. Select Apps & features.

    4. Find the Xbox app and click Advanced options.

    5. Click Reset.

    6. Do the same steps for Microsoft Store app and Gaming Services

    7. Restart your device so that the changes can take effect. Sign in to the Xbox app and check if the same issue occurs.

    * RESET WINDOWS STORE CACHE

    1. Close the store app

    2. Press Windows Key+R to open run command

    3. Type

    WSreset.exe

    4. And press Enter

    5. Let the blank page process

    The store will start automatically.

    * Hold down your PC power button till it shuts down

    Turn it back on after 5 minutes and sign in back the correct account.

    Then try your game again.
