Age of Empires IV installation incomplete

Hello, all!

I have tried everything I can think of to get Age of Empires IV to finish installing on my PC.

I have:

uninstalled and reinstalled the Microsoft Store and Xbox App

cleared temporary files

checked the time zone

restarted the PC

updated the PC

made sure relevant services were running

cancelled installation

attempted to restart the installation

checked to see if other game pass games were able to download and install (which they were able to)

followed a host of other solutions found online and in forums

Nothing has worked. Is anyone else still experiencing problems downloading and installing Age of Empires IV? Are there any new solutions?

The folder will be on your drive letter:\WpSystem

If you can't find it, follow this step.

Right-click the Start button in the lower-left corner of the main screen, and then select Windows PowerShell (Admin).

In the Administrator: Windows PowerShell screen, type the following command and press Enter:

Get-AppxPackage *gamingservices* -allusers | remove-appxpackage -allusers

In the same window, type the following commands and press Enter:

Remove-Item -Path "HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServices" -recurse

Remove-Item -Path "HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServicesNet" -recurse

(It's okay if either of these commands indicates that they keys don't exist)

Restart your device.

Right-click the Start button in the lower-left corner of the main screen, and then select Windows PowerShell (Admin).

In the Administrator: Windows PowerShell screen, type the following command and press Enter:

start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

Install the app on that page, and then select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.

Try to install the game again.

Do me a favor, on your hard drive there is a folder called ''WpSystem'', take ownership of the folder and rename it to ''WpSystem.old'', save, restart your PC, and try downloading the game again.

Thank you. I was able to get the game download running again.

Just an FYI, several of those steps had to be approached from a different angle as I am running Windows 11.

If I right-click on the start menu, for example, there is no option to run PowerShell as admin. However, if I search my device for Powershell, I am able to right click on power shell and run as admin.

Another example, when I looked up that product ID, it said it was not compatible with my version of windows. However, the most favorable rating on that store product gave a next step to resolve that issue.

Thank you, SamQY. I already attempted to take ownership of that folder, but I have been unable to locate it. I am running Windows 11 on a new PC. I don't know if that affects if/where that folder would be in existence.
