Age of Empires II: HD Edition on X1???

Any chance of this coming to X1?? one of my fav RTS of all time ,Its owned by MS and the original even came out on Ps2 and played fine with controller...

Would love to get Company of Heroes series also, my current fav RTS

Halo wars is pathetic compared to these games

Age of Empires 2 HD Edition would have been great....

Even the Ps2 got a port way back, it played fine with gamepad

Age of Empires II is an outstanding game.

 

I would prefer something new, and would like them to use the chat pad and kinect to make it more user friendly tbh.

 

AoE II HD actually is new. The most recent expansion for it just came out in Nov. Age of Mythology HD has an expansion in the works too.

I never played the PS version but I know it was redone to work with the controller so I'd assume it used the radial dials to access things which I hate. I can't imagine playing these games without a keyboard.

 

its new in terms of its current release but its not in terms of game, its just a remake of AoE 2, i would much prefer something new.

 

I still have the Ps2 version, it's quite small as a cd and not even a dvd. Great game and fine with the pad, sure I'd like to see this.

 

I would buy this if it came out on xbox, put many hours into the original on pc

 

Ok so alot of Xbox franchises are going to PC... can we at least get this to X1!! would sure be alot better then these indy shovelware we see every month

 

The last good console RTS I can remember playing was Command and Conquer on the Saturn. It was simple by todays standards and I think that is why the control scheme worked so well.

Halo Wars is a good game but the unit commands were simply awful. You'd spend an age creating these groups only for them to come near each other and the game to decide you wanted them to be one again. In the end tactics came down to just bull rushing the
enemy.

I just don't think that controllers lend themselves well to RTS games. Battle for Middle-Earth 2 had a decent console control scheme but then play the PC version and you could see what a nightmare it actually was.

 

I wished... loved AoE on the PC.... same with C&C Red Alert....hoping they'd make RTS games for the Xbox One... loved Lord of the Rings: Battle For Middle Earth....

 

No, just no. To be good at the game, you need to be able to quickly use shortcuts and micro manage your units. That can only be done well enough with a mouse and a keyboard, so unless the game would support them, just no. Get it for PC. Unless you're fine
playing like a noob the whole time.
