    Age of Empires DE Multiplayer crashes unexpectedly during game


    Out of 6 multiplayer games I've played so far, in 3 of them I've had unexpected crashes. VERY frustrating and irritating.

    When I say "unexpected crash" is because that's exactly it: no matter in which stage of the game I am, screen just goes black only showing the mouse with the AOE themed arrow. After 3 seconds, the game shuts down. No error messages, my PC has no weird behavior
    before or after, nothing. Game exits as if I had pressed "end process" in the task manager.

    This is a major issue. I feel I've wasted my money, and worse: I waste my time. What a disappointment.

    OS: Windows 10

    Laptop model: Lenovo X1 carbon 5th gen

    When encountering crashes on a Windows 10 device we recommend going through the

    Windows 10 crash guide     and following every step listed.

    Be sure to double check that all your Laptops drivers are up to date and not on a beta version.

    Then reset the game and your Xbox app with the following steps:

    1. Open the settings app.
    2. Navigate to System/apps.
    3. In the system sub-menu, navigate to Apps and Features
    4. Search for the app in question.
    5. After selecting the app, select advanced options.
    6. Tap reset.
    7. You may now re-open the app once more

    Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear about the current issue with Multiplayer on Age of Empires. I was able to do some research, and this is the current information:

    • Age of Empires Twitter Support Page
      • There's an issue with multiplayer on Age DE. We're investigating a solution and already making progress. This issue is independent of the Update 9 patch.
