Age Of Empires: Castle Siege 12/16/2014 update to version 1.0.4.135

The latest update to Age Of Empires: Castle Siege has broken the game for me where I can't start it at all on my Lumia 1520.

I get a screen that pops up that reads: "Sorry, we can't sign you in. Please sign in at Xbox.com, then start this app again." So I do just that and try to start the game again only to get the same message over and over again. I've tried syncing my Microsoft
account on the phone in settings/email and accounts, I've tried syncing my xbox "games hub" and tried starting the game from that list.. nothing! All the same result... please help, I have lots of time (and a little bit of money) invested in the game and now
can't start it.
