Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition Multiplayer does not work

Hello,

Recently I have bought Age of Empires 2. When I booted the game the multiplayer button was locked. I found out I had to tell a parent to give me permission to play multiplayer, which I did. Multiplayer still did not work. So I left the family, thinking now the game will unlock the multiplayer button. I was connected to the internet, I was logged in Microsoft Store, the Xbox Console Companion and the Xbox app yet it still did not work. I then contacted Age of Empires support. They gave me several things to check but those did not help. I have now joined the family back.

Romania is not a supported country for Xbox Live (https://www.xbox.com/en-US/regions). Maybe that's why you cannot pay Age of Empires online. Are you using another country on your Microsoft account, Xbox profile or computer?

May I know what the AoE support already told you to check and that did not work, please?

Probably that's the issue, then. Romania is not a supported country for Xbox live. You might have issues playing some Xbox games because of this.

My parent enabled those, because I have a child account. I live in Romania.

Yes, here they are:

-"Make sure you have enabled CROSSPLAY."

-"Make sure you are on the latest game build."

-"Make sure your local or campus firewall is not blocking connections."
