again, Please give us HD DVD support for use on Xbox one

They sold us the idea of HD DVD. We bought them now support us. I have a sizable library of HD DVD's that are great and want to keep watching them. As for Kinect... its a dying idea but I like it. Now that we have the 360 emulator on the Xbox One, this
should be next to follow. Thanks.

Can you even get HD-DVDs? Yes. Amazon and eBay, for example.

Run Xbox 360 games? No.

Use HD-DVD Player on the PC? Yes, but only for CD/DVD/HD-DVD.

 

Xbox 360 Video resolution problem - Solution

You might see video or movie in reduced resolution on your HDTV or monitor. To play a DVD, an HD-DVD, or a downloaded movie in high definition, the High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) protocol is required. But all TVs, monitors, or adapters don’t support HDCP.

So, you have to ensure that your HDTV supports HDCP. You’ll get more info at your TV user manual. DVI ports don’t support the HDCP protocol. You cannot use a DVI port and adapter to connect an HDMI cable to your console. You can try another cable, such as an Xbox Component HD A/V Cable or a VGA cable.

 

Blu ray and HD-DVD are completely different technologies so the Xbox One will not be able to play these discs.

 

You would need an external drive to play HD-DVDs, as the Blu-Ray drive in the Xbox One cannot possibly read the HD-DVD format. Since HD-DVDs are no longer being made, I'd say it's extremely unlikely that HD-DVD support will be added to the Xbox One.
