Some Backstory:

I've had a pair of PDP Afterglow AG9's since the beginning of the year. Ever since I got them, I've had nothing but trouble with them. - The wireless has never worked. - Sometimes there is insane feedback on the headset. - When controller
disconnects, I have to unplug everything (battery, headset, wire) and put it back together, before turning it on again to get audio. I then have to do that again to get audio and the mic to work. - Constantly beeps when trying to connect to the dongle, even
though they are 5 feet apart.

Your probably thinking "why not just get a refund or replacement?" Unfortunately, this isn't the case. When this was happening at the beginning, Amazon were happy to send me a replacement. This turned out to also have the same issues, so again they sent
me another replacement, and again, same issues that plagued before were there again. Unfortunately for me, as replacements were being sent to and from Amazon, I missed the boat to get a refund. I missed it because I (rather stupidly) used the Amazon US store
rather then UK, so deliveries took a lot longer (but hey, cheaper product and free shipping!). So I just lived with it, sure it was a bit annoying not getting wireless on wireless headphones, and that any time the controller disconnected I'd have
to create a puzzle to get it working again. I use the headphone adapter when plugged in on my controller, but sometimes I plug it directly in, both of these have the same issues, with being plugged directly into the controller having more frequent set backs.
I got the adapter with the official stereo headset, that worked absolutely fine.

(I've got the Halo 5 Xbox One by the way, that might be important later.)

Fast forward to this weekend, and the constant issues have worn me down and, again, I wanted to try getting it sorted.

The Twist...

So last night, while trying to game, the headset was acting up even more then usual, constantly making a bad noise. Like normal I unplugged and reset both console and controller and still no reaction, it kept coming back after a couple of minutes being connected.

So today something dawned on me; in the 10 months of owning these headphones, and having major issues with it, I had never tried it on my partners console. As I mentioned before, I have the Halo 5 console, where as they have a launch console still. So I
plug in the dongle, turn on the wireless and -BAM!- it worked, no disconnections like normal, no constant beeping. For the past 2 hours they have been working absolutely fine, we've tested party chat, audio levels, mics, turning off and on in different ways,
not an issue at all. It worked as intended...

...on another console, and I have no idea why. Below I've written a comparison of our consoles, but both are normal stock machines.

MINE / HERS

Halo 5 Xbox One / Launch Day

Xbox One 1TB / 500GB

Preview / Non- Preview

Kinect / No Kinect

As listed, my console is in the preview program, however, our OS are the same and up to date, same with the controllers as well.

So my question for you, the wise internet, is this; - Any Advice?

I'm currently transferring all the internal content to my external to do a factory reset on my machine. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that I tried this before at the beginning of the year when trouble shooting this, and it didn't work. I'm looking at buying
Turtle Beaches XO Seven Pros, but I'm worried that it could be a fault with the console (not playing nice with non-xbox headphones) and also the fact they aren't wireless, which is the main reason I purchased the AG9s in the first place.

TLDR; Had PDP Afterglow AG9 headset for a year, never worked as intended on my console. Try on another console and work absolutely fine. Help?

Best over-ear headset?

Afterglow AG9, completely wireless, $100 in the US or £60 in the UK.

They don't have some options the more expensive ones do but value for money, sound quality is excellent and they do an amazing job.

Somebody please figure out how to make our consoles assign the afterglow usb dongle. Worked than didnt. Heaset works fine on Win. 10 laptop :-(

Driving me CRAZY!

 

Anybody fix this yet, on my second transmiter. Works, but not on my xbox console. Happened after using on my laptop.
