After windows Re installation : XBOX Games are missing and undetectable and Taking space...

how do I get this trustedinstaller ? I don't see any of the installed games on the new fresh installed windows.!

i also cant find this folder of XboxGames it's hidden as well.

You won't see any of your installed games on the fresh install of Windows. As far as Windows is concerned they're not installed. That's why I said to go further down the guide as the first part will not apply to you.

Trustedinstaller is a Windows designation for the current owner of the protected WindowsApps folder. This is what you'll need to change to your admin account in order to delete just this folder and free up the space. The guide I provided should cover all of this.





Using my E:\ drive as an example





There are two other folders associated with the 'WindowsApps' folder, these are 'WpSystem' and 'WUDownloadCache'. These files are not protected and should be easy to delete.

I have an XboxGames folder because I use this now used install games via my Xbox App. If you've not been installing to an XboxGames folder then this may not apply to you, hence you won't find this folder.

I see, what about the Xbox Games folder as far as I understand these folders are not the problem atm.

They'll either be installed to a folder called XboxGames or more likely a folder called WindowsApps. The XboxGames folder isn't protected per-say, but some games that can be install there are.

The WindowsApps folder is a protected and encypted folder however, and to remove it requires you to take control of said folder and change its permissions from 'Trustedinstaller' to your own Windows Administrator account. Once you do this it is then possible to delete just this folder and free up the space again.

This guide should help you. It's for Windows 10, but it should also work in Windows 11 as well. Since you've already reinstalled Windows, scroll down the link a little until you get to the 'Deleting WindowsApps' folder' section.

the xbox apps installed take little space, and are parts and parcel of windows as its a microsoft service, they will integrate everything eventually.

1. Open the Windows 10 Search Bar, and type in PowerShell.
2. Right-click the PowerShell app and click “Run as administrator”.
3. Type the following command and press the Enter key:
   
   Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxApp | Remove-AppxPackage
4. Wait until the process is finished. It should only take a few seconds to run.
5. Type exit and press the Enter key to exit PowerShell.

follow this at your own risk.

this option will disable it and remove but you would need to do this after every update as it is re installed with each new version of windows 10

my opinion would be leave it where is is, it uses little space.
