The email you used to pay for the game does not matter. You have to log in to the Microsoft account that purchased the game. On this link, you can check your Microsoft account purchase history and see if the game appears in your purchase history. I recommend checking all the accounts you used.

I assume you are trying to reinstall the game on Windows, right? Is the account that purchased the game logged into the Microsoft Store app on your Windows? In the upper right corner, you can check this out. After verifying the account, look for the game in the Microsoft Store app and you should see the option to install the game.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I'm using Windows. And I DID have a look at the Microsoft Store app and it's got a different email address than the one I paid with - an email address that I use for PayPal.

I tried to add the email address that I used to pay for the software as an "additional email" to my Microsoft Account (to allow me to delete the primary one and to then use my "additional email" as the primary one) - however, my "additional email" address was rejected because it's already registered with Microsoft!

Now that I'm in Microsoft Store, I can either "play FS or buy FS: Standard Edition" and yes, there's the install button, and when I click on install, it gives me another pop up with "install", but nothing happens.

• The Microsoft Flight Simulator Standard Edition ($59.99 USD) includes 20 highly detailed planes with unique flight models and 30 hand-crafted airports. The Standard Edition will be available on day one with Xbox Game Pass for PC (Beta).
• The Deluxe Edition ($89.99 USD) includes everything from Microsoft Flight Simulator’s standard edition plus 5 additional highly accurate planes with unique flight models and 5 additional handcrafted international airports.
• The Premium Deluxe Edition ($119.99 USD) includes everything from Microsoft Flight Simulator Standard Edition plus 10 additional highly accurate planes with unique flight models and 10 additional handcrafted international
  airports.
