    Problem with my xbox live gold suscription

    I can not play any game online because it asks for a subscription to xbox live gold, but, I do have an active subscription that expires in October of this year

    Xbox free 1 month trial not working?

    So I just got an xbox one and created an account.

    I then activated the 1 month free xbox live gold trial through my xbox system, and after successfully activating it through my credit card, it still shows that I do not have a gold membership.

    However, when I check on the website through my PC, it shows that I do indeed have a gold subscription active, which expires February 25, 2016.

    Any reason why it's not working? Also, how do I check my current live subscription on my xbox one. (Settings > Subscriptions, just says "Learn about Gold membership")

    Are you getting the message while running Destiny?

    Let's try something simple -- let's "refresh" the console with a cache-cleaning and power cycle. Maybe something didn't sit right with the update.

    • Clear the system cache (read
      HERE      )
    • Power cycle the Xbox 360.
      • Turn off the console normally.
      • Unplug the power from the mains/wall.
      • Unplug the power connector from the console.
      • Let the console sit unpowered for about a minute (or two).
      • Plug it all back in.
      • Turn on.
    • Launch Destiny again. See if you can connect now.
    Post back with results!

    Are you getting a prompt to get an Xbox Live Gold subscription or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate? If yes, jus a friendly reminder though that to play a paid online multiplayer game an Xbox Live Gold subscription is required which is why you're getting the prompt.

    Game Pass for Console is a subscription where you can access the game pass library, the Xbox Live Gold subscription is different but it is included on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
    I'm getting a prompt for Ultimate, not Xbox Live Gold.

    Because to play the game online, you'll need to have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription, you may be prompted to buy the subscription.
