  1. After System Update- No DVD video, only audio.

So here is the short version: I turned on my Xbox 360 (Star Wars edition) and was prompted for a system update. I applied the update and then tried to continue watching episodes of West Wing which was already in the Xbox CD tray. The DVD resumed it's previous
location on the DVD but I could only hear audio, no video. After about 30 seconds it kicks back to the dashboard with a error message. The message was something about losing the secure connection to the TV / Xbox or the TV not supporting HDCP.

Long version: I turned on my Xbox 360 (Star Wars edition) and was prompted for a system update. I applied the update and then tried to continue watching episodes of West Wing which was already in the Xbox CD tray. The DVD resumed it's previous location
on the DVD but I could only hear audio, no video. After about 30 seconds I could hear the Xbox go back to the dashboard, but still no picture. If I switched the input on my receiver to my cable box, I got picture back and when I switched the input on the
receiver back to the Xbox the dashboard the picture would show up showing the error message. The message was something about losing the secure connection to the TV / Xbox or the TV not supporting HDCP. My TV / Xbox setup consists of a plasma tv hooked up
to a Yamaha HDMI receiver with all my components connected to the receiver (Xbox 360, cable box, Chromecast). All connected via HDMI cables. I've never had an issue with cables, receiver, or TV. After I tried a different DVD (same result) I tried Minecraft
(downloaded game) and it worked fine. Then I tried Mass Effect 3 (game disc installed to hard drive) worked fine. Then I tried Left 4 Dead (game disc, never played on this console) and it worked fine. I cleaned the disc DVD, cleared the system cache 4 times,
(3 in a row) and still the same result with DVDs. I then contacted Xbox support via mobile chat and worked with Henry to try and solve the problem. After trying more or less the same things with him, we tried different HDMI cables (same result), different
inputs on the receiver (same result) and then finally tried to connect the Xbox 360 directly to the TV via HDMI cable and that worked. I now had the both the video and audio. I asked Henry how can I rollback the system update to see if the DVD would play
through the receiver pre-patch. He told me to do the LB, RB, X etc at the storage > Hard drive screen. I did that and the xbox restarted and prompted me to install the system patch. I declined the patch, and it stated that I would not be able to connect
to XBL without it. Fine. I reconnected the xbox to the receiver and it the DVD worked fine, both audio and video.

So the issue appears to be the system patch applied on 12/14/14. Something might have changed the HDCP settings. What seems weird is my receiver is newer that my TV, but it is the one having problems with the video signal after the Xbox system patch. So
now if I want to watch DVDs on my Xbox I can't have the system patch applied, but I can't connect to XBL. If I apply the patch I can get XBL but no DVD video without switching my HDMI cables to connect my Xbox directly to the TV.

    Please patch the system update!

    Anyone else have this problem?

    :)

Xbox One S - DVD & Blu-ray audio out of sync - DVD audio/video sync worse

UPDATE: Xbox One S returned. No solution for audio sync issue on DVD/Blu-ray playback.

After scouring the internet I cannot find a solution. The Xbox Support seems to be correct. There was an issue with the Xbox One S where the audio was not in sync with the video on DVD and Blu-ray playback. I returned the Xbox One S.

Hopefully few other experience the issue.

    Good Luck!

  3. Audio problems on DVDs played through Xbox

When I try to play a movie of mine, there is no audio only video. I've tried 3 different HDMI cables and there was still no audio. I also tried different DVDs. This has just now recently been happening. Can anyone help?

    Hey there DigitalGuru42!

Sorry to hear about the odd issue. If the issue is solved by bypassing the receiver, I would recommend sticking with connecting directly to the TV until our next update. If the issue persists after the next update, please post back and let us know! I am
sincerely sorry for any frustration this may have caused.

No audio or video after update

Nope, no red lights on the console or power brick (its a 360 slim). I did the sync/eject combo and nothing happened, console did not turn on at all while held down the sync button.

Are there any red lights showing on the console at all?

Try pressing and holding the sync button and then pressing the eject button.
