also, go to turtlebeach support site, fill out an online "ticket" asking for their chat adaptor that wil allow mic monitoring. You'll have it within a week all for free

 

A few people have been hit with this party bug lately which doesn't help if you've got a new headset.

- You join the chat.

- You don't have a mic icon.

- You can't hear anything, they can't hear you.

Solution:

- Hard reset the XBox.

- Fire it up again and join party chat before you fire up a game.

Let us know if that helps.

Also the "Game / Voice Balance" can be a little confusing.

To hear people better while playing and chatting don't adjust the volume... instead adjust the bottom left button on your Chat Adaptor which has a picture of a person until you hear the voices ok.

This decreases game volume and increases their volume.

Then use the volume + and - symbols to make the overall volume acceptable.

Thanks guys for all the help really appreciate it I've contacted TB about chat adaptor and when I was in a party earlier the purple circle was illuminating when I was talking but then stopped so I don't know what the problem is! Az I will try that suggestion
next time I'm going on party chat thanks again for all the help

 

Tried hard reset no joy

 

Should say I can hear people no problem its just when I'm talking nothing happens!

 

Have you tried assigning the controller to your profile?

Sorry running out of ideas. Only other thing is ring TB support.

 

Yes its assigned m8 as soon as I join a party they work for a few seconds then it stops playing my voice I can still hear everything ok though getting to be a pain in the *** I contacted Turtle Beach earlier still waiting to hear back but I might chance
my arm and see if I can exchange them at Tesco.

When you say "Stops playing my voice" You realise you will only hear your own voice if you have the turtle beach chat adaptor? Not the Microsoft one

 

I mean when your in a party when you see the circle beside your name it only illuminates when I talk for the first few seconds then nobody can hear me ! I contacted TB and they still haven't got back to me Tesco have arranged for replacement which I will
get today so hopefully that solves the problem

Have you done a hard reset?

Have you tried moving from party chat to game chat and back a few times?

Have you given it enough time to load?

if all else fails try MS live chat tech support.

 

The only thing I can think of is a full factory restore which I really dont want to do unless its last resort! I've tried all other options and I spoke to ms last night which was a sheer and utter waste of time ,final thing I can think of its something
to do with the controller failing that I'm all out of ideas

out of interest if you start a party with no one in it, does the mic icon flash.

 

No m8 it doesn't flash ! The only other thing the stereo adapter says it needs an update but when I look it says no update available
