After new hard-drive, xboxlive account does not connect to live.

    Hello,

We (the account in question is not mine, it is *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***) just bought a new hard drive for a 360 (E), which previously had internal storage, and some memory stick in the back. After trying to transfer everything to the hdd, we ended up with two profiles
one on MU (internal store all usb sticks unplugged) and one on HDD. Now if we sign in with the MU account, it seems to connect to live, but the hdd one does not. If we try to play a game it disconnects us from live. If we try to go to Account in settings we
    get the following error code:-

    d0000034-00b96084-1ed9e66e

We have removed the hdd for now. We have tried re-downloading the xbox live account.

Can you explain what this error code means and what we need to do in order to use the xbox with the hdd.

    Thanks.

    :)

Problems to connect my 360 to Live Gold account first time, I receive error no 80072741.

after several attempts to connect my 360 to aktive Live Gold account, I receive error no 80072741 for days and days.. Also when Xbox Live status is ok acc to home page as today 3rd january, i get same message. All solution checks are ok; internet connect,
account payment, cleaned the cache drive. What more to do? Is the xbox Live profile downloader function really out of order for many days ? Do not believe so.

I,m in Sweden, threaded connection via 50 Mbit fibre cable to Telia - Sweden biggest operator.

    xboxLive name: WingedPegasus6

    Thank you in advance.

So, how many of you are 10 year Xbox Live gamers?

I started with the xboxlive beta with the headset and MotoGP disk, but I currently have a new different gamer tag due to my associated Hotmail account going inactive, due to not logging into email, and thus preventing me from renewing the live account. I had to create a new account while I went through the steps of recovery for the Hotmail address. Once recovered, I simply stayed with my new gamer tag... Now associated with the old Hotmail account. :-(

Are you by any chance part of Preview or was the new storage device you purchased used to save updates from Preview. The error code you posted is connected to an issue there was with a preview updated to a hard drive. Re- applying the update may help if
the storage is official Xbox if it's 3rd party it may not help. Let me know how you get on .

Please try following steps and report back to me. Thank you!

    1. Turn off your xbox and unplug your network device from the wall socket for 30 seconds.

    2. Plug back your network device and wait until it is completely powered up

    3. Turn on your Xbox and navigate to Settings- System- Storage- Highlight your HDD and complete following sequence: LB+RB+X, LB+RB+X (this will roll-back your current update)

    4. System will prompt you to re-download the system update again. Please accept this.

    5. Navigate to Settings- System- Storage- Highlight HDD- Press "Y" for device options- Clear system cache

    6. Power cycle your xbox by turning it on and off again

    7. Sign back in with your profile

Thanks very much for your help, it's much appreciated!

We are not part of the Preview. The hdd is brand new, and needed formatting before use, so I assume it didn't have any Preview updates on it. I tried the rollback procedure, and it had no effect, the error code above still happens. I was not prompted to
re-download anything, but a message saying that it would roll back did pop up. This is true both with the hdd in and with it it removed.

The hdd is 3rd party, but all these things happen when it is not in the xbox as well as when we are trying to use it.

Do you have any other suggestions? The live account is unusable at the moment, and it seems like it must be a software problem because it only happened after trying to transfer things to the hdd, but it still happens with the hdd removed.

Ok, have you tried the steps at this link?

    support.xbox.com/.../error-code-d0000034

Also, you say the hard drive is 3rd party. Is this a hard drive that plugs into a USB port or one that fits into the console like an official drive?

If it is a 3rd party that fits into the console then those are not supported and can cause issues with connectivity. If this is the case I would recommend returning it and purchasing a new, official drive.

    Hello,

I tried the steps at the link that you provided, but with no luck. It is a 3rd party drive, but currently all the problems we have still happen with the drive removed. I appreciate you can't support 3rd party hardware, but at this point I'd be pretty happy
if we could use the plain xbox without the hard drive.

We cannot sign into live. Trying to roll back an update had no effect. We had the $SystemUpdate folder tom the zip file on a FAT32 USB stick with nothing else, and this had no effect.

Now when we sign into live we get an error code of 80151015.

    This page
    support.xbox.com/.../error-code-80151015
seems to indicate that the account is blocked or corrupted. If it is corrupted we can't fix that because we can't connect to xbox live to download the profile again. If the account is blocked, I'd like to know why.

If you have any suggestions, then they would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

After new hard-drive, xboxlive account does not connect to live.

There are two things you can to do see if your account is blocked.

    1. Check for enforcement actions at this link: http://enforcement.xbox.com/

    2. Contact phone support to see if they've blocked your account for a billing issue. If you live in North America dial 1-800-469-9269

We have phones support, and the account is not suspended or blocked in any way. The person on the phone did not know how we could get that error code.

They suggested that it could be the ISP, however everything has been working fine, until we tried to transfer data to the new hard drive.

We would download the profile again, but we can't because we can't connect to xbox live. We can't connect to xbox live because of some problem with the profile.

Is there any way we can fix this?

We have called support again, and the account is not blocked.

What you have said about the message meaning the account is blocked is not true according to the documentation here

    support.xbox.com/.../error-code-80151015
which suggests that the profile may also be corrupted. I guess that's too unlikely, since we tried to move everything to the new hard drive? If that failed half way for some reason, you could imagine that the data
would be in a bad state, if the system is not transactional.

    The documentation here
    support.xbox.com/.../error-code-80151015
says that if the profile is corrupted you must connect to xbox live to download the profile again. We cannot do that because we cannot connect to xbox live.

If we try to delete the profile, it is still there when you turn the xbox on again. Again, that sounds like the internal storage is in a funny state. Not being able to delete the profiles, does not sound like a side effect of the account being banned.

Is there no way to reformat the internal storage, and install all the software again from scratch? This is what I would be doing with a pc.
