After moving my videos folder to my (D:) drive, the Xbox Game Bar is lagging heavily

Whenever I open it, it takes a long time for everything in the game bar to fully show up, or whenever I take a clip in a game, the game stutters insanely hard for around 10 or 20 seconds, the video player is also janky and laggy, this started happening right after I moved the videos folder (which also contained the captures folder of the game bar) to my other drive

What can I do to fix this? If I move my captures folder back to my C drive will that fix it?

    :)

Sadly that didn't help at all, the game bar is still acting up, earlier I couldn't even take a clip and now whenever I open up the game bar it's completely unresponsive for like 30 seconds or even a minute

Hello Username34! I'm Claus, an Independent Microsoft Community Consultant for Xbox! Glad to be able to help you!

If you are capturing games constantly on the Xbox Game Bar, and then you changed the folder to where the Game Bar records to, and that disk on which your captures are being saved to is a slow drive (mechanical hard drive), or your game is also installed on that disk, then there's a chance that the game and the captures being read and saved, respectively, might be overloading your drive and then making everything slow.

Possibly changing it back to the C: drive will improve performance.

I reset the app but that didn't fix it, however after I also deleted the captures folder that made the game bar work properly again

In this case, it might be a good idea to reset the Xbox Game Bar. Follow these steps:

    1. Open Settings (Windows 10 app).

    2. Go to Applications.

    3. On that list, select the Xbox Game Bar, and then select Advanced Options.

    4. Go to Reset, and then press the Reset button.

    5. Check if the issue keeps happening.

Xbox Game DVR: Unable to find captures?

No, I am not able to access the original 'Captures' folder from the Videos folder in the C Drive as I moved it to a portable hard drive. I created a new 'Captures' folder in the C Drive, but the Game Bar doesn't want to recognize it as a new one, that's
my issue. Is there a way to make the new folder a default location for new captures?
