After buying a game in game pass, can both games be played at the same time?

Lately I have started playing No Man's Sky and I am greatly enjoying it and I have a question that I have no clue where to ask...

I currently play the game on PC thanks to gamepass ultimate. My gaming pc is right next to my home entertainement center where my Xbox is. Since the game is also on game pass xbox and is cross platform I thought it might be fun to play with my wife so
I installed it on there as well. I tried starting the pc version while my wife was on the xbox one and I got the message saying only one copy could be played at a time. Fair enough, I understand that and I have no problems with it.

What I want to know though is if I buy a copy of the game and play that on my pc, will my wife then be able to use the game pass version and join me? Or would I have to purchase the game in a complete ecosystem like steam so that it wouldn't get mixed up?

Just a note, my wife uses her own microsoft account but is playing on my "home" console so she also has access to game pass that way.

if I buy game pass, on my profile can we both play games with game share, ie Call of Duty. ? Or do I have to buy the same game twice ?

If you only have standard Game Pass for console then you'd either need to buy the game for PC as well or buy Game Pass Ultimate (to have both console Game Pass and PC Game Pass for free). Not all games can be played on both console and PC even if the game is available on both.

The time will be longer subscription time, and then after conversion, both Game Pass and Live Gold will have the same duration.

I've actually tried both already, at first it didn't let me buy the regular game pass but after multiple tries I succeeded, but ultimate I've tried so many times and it says the same thing

i have the exact same issue i wanted to dl the season pass for both games and when i dl the season pass the game worked all right but after i restarted the game to take the season pass as downloaded it says connecting and then a black screen and then after
a few seconds the console froze i tried it 3 times on both games and its always the same

i deleted the cache and dl the games again and nothing same results
