After a certain time my console will not connect to the internet.

My connection used to run fine until Internet neutrality went out the window. Now, my connection goes to crap at certain times during the day.

How many clients can be connected at the same time on your router ?, Since they have a maximum and in turn each console uses a certain amount of internet so if all three are connected to it they would be consuming too many resources from your internet.

I’ve waited 10+ minutes before after powering on my console for it to connect and nothing happens, but after going to shut down and it restarts itself, it connects instantly to the internet without lag time of connection at all.

I believe it would need to be connected to the Internet.

This is not 100% certain but if that is *not* the case then you would easily be able to take the console offline, change the date/time and play the game. So for that reason alone I think it is more than likely you will need to be online in order for the
console to get the game unlocked by the server, after which time you can play it both online and offline.

Thanks for the info. This is just greatly unfortunate. Not being able to play unless you have Internet (I like to travel with my console), or not being able to play if you don't connect after a certain period (my Internet goes out frequently). All this on
top of the whole used games thing (my brother and I like to share games) makes this very disappointing indeed.
