After 3 years My Gamertag was changed... needless to say I'm really *** about it.

After three years My gamer tag was changed... Why? If it violated the Terms and Use why am i just now getting this response? This has just added to the absolute awful experience I've had on the Xbox One. I'm honestly debating on switching over to the Playstation
Network to get back my old Gamertag or i guess on there is will be my PSN Username. I made the Gamertag obviously flirting the lines but after the first few months of playing and no changes or bans i thought it was ok. Apparently all it takes is doing to well
in an FPS nowadays and having people report you.

I also tried to changed my gamertag myself, but I have to pay ? After 8 years on xbox live, I'm pretty sure I should have a free gamertag change but nope , have to pay! This is all pretty unfair.

Change Gamertag page has broken url: "The page you are looking for may have a new location, or is no longer available."

And I've tried earlier to do something similar but it
demanded from me $10 ($9.99 to be accurate).

My Microsoft Account was created few ears ago.

 

There is no way to get your gamertag back

FYI I wouldn't push your luck if you get reported on psn with a bad name as they have the exact same rules

You don't just lose your name your account gets banned because they don't allow for name changes

It is really simple

No they cannot just report you and viola instant ban

You should read the enforcement faq

No matter how many reports you get it only takes one valid one to get enforcement action

If there isn't any well there is no action taken

It is that simple

Read the code of conduct about names

Hiding violations with different characters or spelling doesn't change the meaning and if the enforcers see it they will take action

It doesn't matter if you had it for 3 or 5 years it just took that long for someone to report it

Everyone else ignored it

Live life and play fair

Also it should be noted if you even try and get the name back by changing the spelling with the offence still in they will take action

And too many forced name changes can result in a perm ban of the account

 

Obvious as it may seem every spelling change of your gtag in order to "pass one by the enforcement team" and use profane or insulting phrases is seen as a violation of the agreement you signed when you joined the xbox live service. As other fellow ambassadors
mentioned before even other services apply rules as regulations from this point of view.
