After 3 months of owning X1 I am extremely happy I got one.

I've compared video of M.G.S. on all four systems and it does look better on the PS4; although I'm not impressed with any version of that game. It would make sense for a Japanese developer to make the better version on the "home" console...they are loyal
to their country.

After watching this, I've concluded this is just another game meant for last generation with some tweaks. I would guess they added a few more "tweaks" for the home team, though for the most part, I don't think they tried very hard on either.

So 3 months out and you were expecting 3rd party games and old engines to demonstrate the power of the cloud. There is no help for you.

 

First party games failed to deliver, forza had to be toned down in order to hit 1080/60 and failed to use the to simulate strong graphics, when u pitch something demo it.

They fell short on all 3parties and even first parties they couldn't deliver 1080. Seems like there is no help for them mu friend not me.

 

@Wanarios Well, I believe the power of the cloud was forcefully halted by the reversal of the consoles online ecosystem. Either way, expecting cloud power from games in development 2-5 years before the console even released is delusional.

 

Well Forza 5 looks great despite a 2d crowd is if that's what you refer to. It is still the only next gen game to have 1080p/60fps locked and plays fantastic and the cars look gorgeous.

As@burst says the reversal on online caused a big spanner in the works.

Ryse looks and plays brilliant as well. Even at 900p.

Before buying a game on 360 did anyone ask what the resolution was before buying? I don't even think game reviews mention the revolution. FPS yes, but never resolution and did it matter so why now?

 

Well I am happy with my xboxone needs a few updates but still happy with it

I respect that you're not happy, and want to communicate your frustration. But does continually doing so actually make you feel any better, or just serve to perpetuate and increase your angst?

Last gen the PS3 was the one playing catch up. It got there, and ended up on equal footing. Yes, it took years, but I don't see the X1 taking that long to hit the resolutions that the hue and cry is all about. Thing is... I personally can't recall any Microsoft
advertising when it came to resolutions, please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'd say that if by the time the next Halo comes out, if it's not at 1080p/60fps, then there's a definite problem. But I can't see that happening. Anyways, for me, as long as it looks good, and is engaging, I'm happy.

I'm getting my X1 and Ryse tomorrow... Got the Day off too... Am very interested after all the ruckus, what my experience will be.

Enjoy gaming people... That's the point after all... Right?

Same here, bought an XBOX ONE at launch. Well imported one out of France (all versions are English) as it does not launch yet where I live. I use it to the fullest, I love the interface and the 3-tier operating system where you can instantly switch between
games, apps and OS.

Unfortunately Microsoft failed to convey the benefits or the true wonder about it's design to the large audience. Still clouded by the controversy in mid 2013 around decisions Microsoft made, a lot of gaming folk still have a negative idea around the box.
It's a "you have to experience" kind of thing with the XBOX ONE, a lot of naysayers, until they actually use one.

Anyway insecurities aside, suspend actually only works on PS until you turn the console off. Even from standby you have to reload the game unlike X1.

Yes it has face recognition but A you need the camera and B you have to hold up your control at the same time which kind of defeats the purpose. X1 I can be do other stuff and it'll sign me in before I even pick up the control. Also recognises my wife etc.

Also with regards to making a profit, wouldn't be too confident in your assumptions buddy. Here in New Zealand we barely get any in stock being such a small country so they are always in demand.

Chucked it up on Trade Me and sold within 3-4 days. Paid $720 for it and killzone. Sold for $850. Paid for my Titanfall control etc which was nice

Your point about suspend when you turn the console off is rendered irrelevant when you think that the PS4 turns on quicker.
