After 10+ years...

Microsoft suddenly decides that my gamertag "" is offensive and needs to be changed. Please tell me 1) how this is offensive and 2) how to actually get in touch with someone to complain. I've taken great pride in keeping a clean reputation and
maintaining a good standing in the XBox community. I've never changed my gamertag, as it has been a part of my online persona since I first joined XBox. If my gamertag was in the least bit offensive, I would be happy to switch it out, but it is not. What
gives Microsoft? Way to treat your loyal customers.

Retaliating is NOT a breach of the ToU/CoC,will you stop posting misinformation.

It's how you retaliate that can get you into trouble.

Anyway,the enforcement team do not use the forums,the only way to contact them is via a case review.If you have done that & the decision was upheld then there's nothing else you can do.

If your account is permanently banned then you forfeit all digital content,remaining live time etc. which is something you agreed to when you started your account by agreeing to the ToU/CoC

 

The first 4 letters are slang for something extremely disgusting,that's why you were issued a fnc.

Doesn't matter how long you've had the tag,it was only just reported & investigated & found to be offensive.

 

So if something becomes slang after it is already in common usage, then I'm to be penalized and asked to pay $10 to fix it? According to UrbanDictionary, a huge percentage of commonly used phrases also have slang meanings. They need to be a little more
discreet in what constitutes a vulgar gamertag.

 

Well that word & it's slang meaning have been around for longer than 10 years so it hasn't just become a slang term.

I see you still have the gamertag,if you've changed it back to a variation of what it was it will get reset again,a 3rd time & your account will be banned.

 

The slang meaning was introduced in a South Park episode in 2000. I've been using this gamertag (long before Xbox live) since 1989. It is a coding acronym that far predates Matt and Trey's inclusion into pop culture. Microsoft using South Park to base
their policing policies is bordering on idiotic.

 

Funny as i remember learning about this word in the school playground in the early 80's.

No matter,the word can't be in your gamertag & as i've said,if you 've changed it back again you will be issued another forced name change.
