Advice on Possible XB1 External HDD Solution

So I've been waiting pretty much since they announced the ability to externals to the Xbox One last year for a drive that fits my needs. I know I am going to fill it up with quite a few games and don't want a drive that takes external power. I also want
the fastest drive, short of a SSD which gets expensive quick. For a while I considered the Touro S 1TB because of its 7200 RPM drive, but I think it will fill up too quickly. I also looked at the WD Passport 2TB, but found it is only 5400.

My question is, would this setup work, giving me the 2TB and 7200 RPM without setting something on fire? This is my first time using an enclosure with an internal drive so I just want to make sure before buying.

Instant On features haven't worked in over a year, can anyone help me get it working again???

Plus my over 100 XBLA games that I can't play anymore on xb1, and I have 72 games on my xb1 between internal and external HDD. Before anyone suggests it....these features stopped working long before I got an external hdd, lol.

I assume your talking about an external?

Will work just like your XB1 HDD you can add anything to it you can put on your XB1 HDD.

Just plugs into your USB on the XB1.

This setup surely is going to work and will going to have good stability and performance, just aware about how much time spends the console installing the games ,full running for maybe 3 o 4 hours (with a good download speed) in a closed space for 6 or 7
times for a week maybe going to start issues in the performance in a time... but i think is the only thing to care about with this setup.

 

Thanks for the input, how long would you expect a setup like this to last? I have heard Western Digital is the best in regards to quality so I'm hoping it will last me a few years at least.
