  1. Advice On Choosing A New 1080p HDTV:

I have had a Westinghouse 1080p HDTV for about two years. While playing The Elder Scrolls Online on my Xbox One last night, the whole picture on the TV died while in game. I decided to take this as an opportunity to go for a better HDTV. I used to use a
Vizio 32" HDTV back when HDTV's first came out, but when I got my Westinghouse I gave it to my mom and it is still running strong, this was many years ago when I got that one. I am considering getting a Vizio again, but if the Xbox community has ideas on a
HDTV with better picture quality then I am all ears. My budget is $400.00 including warranty and shipping, and must have a 1080p resolution. Size can range from 32 inches to 43 inches, but cannot be any bigger or smaller than that. It also needs to be brand
new it cannot be refurbished, used, open box etc. I know it wasn't the console as the console still boots up. I also disconnected the HDMI signal to make sure and the TV is just black when powered on, no Westinghouse logo or any sort of light upon powering
up the TV with nothing connected to it, just completely black with a power light. Anyways any advice you guys can give would be great, as I do want a good picture quality while playing on my Xbox One and a Gaming PC that I plan to get in a few months.

    :)

    About the blu ray player....

Xbox One gaming will look just fine on a Full HD 1080p capable HDTV. No need to blow $$$$'s on an Ultra HDTV unless you really want to. Most Xbox 360 stuff isn't really natively 1080p and you can tell that on a Full HDTV 1080p. However Xbox One should help
you get the maximum picture enjoyment which a Full 1080p HDTV is capable of producing.

    Hdmi cable ?

It means using an Xbox 4k HDMI cable will make the picture on your Full HDTV 1080p beautiful. ~~

It should be a high speed HDMI cable too.

    I have a Sony KDL40EX720 Full HDTV 1080p.

Advice On Choosing A New 1080p HDTV:

Hi Advice On Choosing A New 1080p HDTV: :).

There are a few brands I look at when getting a new TV... Samsung/Toshiba/Panasonic, but it really depends on what else you're connecting to it. You want something with enough features to make it as future-proof as possible, so... Number of HDMI ports,
whether you have any old SCART tech to connect, sound quality (if you're not using external sound equipment). There are a lot of feature in TVs now, so it all depends on what you need/want.

You preferably want a high contrast ratio, 1080p upscaling is an option too, for older stuff, but not really essential. I'd honestly suggest looking at some retailers sites, or even Tom's Hardware website, for some comparisons, and suggestions based on
    your specific requirements ;-).

    Kind regards.

    DJM.

  5. @DJMorpheus2007 I really appreciate the response especially after the amount of time that has passed since I created this thread. I have actually since purchased a Hisense 40" 1080p LED HDTV and I am very happy with it, as I got it with a 3 year warranty
at my local Walmart for just under $300.00. Picture quality is actually 3X to 5X better than my old Westinghouse LED HDTV.

I honestly didn't realise the date until after I posted, so I'm sorry I was too late to offer advice before you bought your new TV. Glad you got a decent model though, sounds perfect for gaming, and a great price too :-D.
