Seconded. There's even an advertisement on the front page of the home screen with a link to the Amazon video app, but it says it's unavailable.

DJ why don't I have these ads? Is this a regional thing?

But I see your point. As I said, it is by definition anti-conumerism. With that said, I also see businesses cross promoting their products. It is not just on Microsoft

It's 100% on Microsoft. Nobody can force MS to put their ads on my home screen, lol. It happens because MS allow it. They push their luck with consumers too much. Nobody gets excited about new Windows launches anymore. Nobody gives a toss about Windows Phone.
Literally the only product they have that built up a bit of a cult following is the Xbox and Mattrick almost tossed all of that goodwill away.

And I can't let you bring in the other 2 without saying a little something. They are not without their own business sins. The Nintendo and YouTube issue is far more foul. And S*ny.... I just don't even want to start there.

It's one ad, there are ads everywhere, that's how Google stays in business, hardly anti-consumer, Sony being the godfather of the rootkit, or making fake movie reviews, that is what I can anti-consumerium.

As far as I'm concerned, as long as the ads aren't intrusive, then I simplely don't care and frankly this thread is doing a better job of advertising because now I want Taco Bell with a Mountain Dew.

So you keep saying MS Says they would never add Ads onto the home screen all I have too say is link it or it didnt happen.

These article here prove that adverts have alreay been here for years that they were planned and openly accepted too help consumers meet other products that are in partnership with MS or their brother or sister companies.

www.eurogamer.net/.../2012-11-19-adverts-and-the-new-xbox-360-dashboard

advertising.microsoft.com/.../xbox

www.npr.org/.../presidential-campaigns-rock-the-gamer-vote

Now for as too a link for my first post it is not something I can link as it was a poll given by xbox live rewards and I cant seem too find any pics on it. I can refference the time frame poll was given as I remember clearly taking the poll along side thinking
how stupid it was too have too watch the president campaign too get a stupid gold halo avatar armor.

Off topic portion.. you prove the theory that anyone can be an ambassador oblivious too knowledge or not. Being an ambassador does not mean that you cannot critisize and have your own political or fundemental opinion on things here.

but it very much means that you need too watch how you treat people. How you handle and deliver information. And how you should always treat the other members of the community with the utmost respect regarless of your opinion on them and their ideas.

You coming here calling people names and degradding others is un acceptable... all because they dont share your views on some stupid ad you seen for two seconds....

Trust and believe I was ahigh level ambassador who. Became tired of certain trolls here and handled myself along the lines that you are doing here in this thread and trust that they made aware and also a public spectacle when removing me.. which o was mad
at first before ivrealised thats just what the pretend cool kids do when their pride is hurt... they attempt to harm in return and they succeeded..

If you want too maintain your ambship and rewards that come with it you better re think your approach too things here if you want to maintain your status.

Just saying.

Not defending, I just don't a singular non-intrusive ad as being anticommunists. I now have an ad to watch Dora the explorer on Amazon, and I don't think there is a word in the English language that describes how little I care.

I have the same one Zero. Earlier it was Spongebob. It's one tile out of the many on the dashboard. I can see how one may not care to look at dora the explorer on the dash but how long are you spending on there?

And just as a reminder, let's keep avoid the console comparisons.

12.
how long are you spending on there?
As I mentioned before, Microsoft wouldn't be putting advertisements on the dashboard, 360 or One, if people weren't spending time there in order to see them.

So it would seem there is a sufficient amount of people spending time on the dashboard in order to make the ad serving profitable.

Many have a Gold Subscription. It's not like you have a Free subscription. It's like software and other stuff. You get ads in it until you give them your money and they remove those ads. As long as it's not Live Tiles Flash Flash take up a huge chunk of
the screen or add another section to the Dashboard to smack us in the face with ads 'HEY, EXCUSE ME, I WANT YOUR ATTENTION, NO COME BACK, WHERE YOU GOING?... I want to make you late for your bed time, school, or work or waste more than just a little of your
time', if they don't do these things, then I'm ok with it. Since I've been with Xbox, the way they display ads on 360 and Xbox 1's Dashboard has been done neatly. I get annoyed with Youtube ads too especially the 'over 30 seconds' ads which you can't skip....
man, don't these people have a life?! Advertisements on the home screen - a backwards step :) then again everyone needs money. Just try to do something like play your favourite games hang out with friends or watch funny videos to take your mind off it.

I did watch a video on my Xbox 1 Dashboard today about features in the April Update (they didn't even mention anything about voice messaging even though they said it's coming out in April)... something like they may be adding a Whats On tab. I'm not interested
in it and what's trending. If this is what it's about, then just avoid pressing A to drown yourself in that section. I know they have an Activity Feed section. You don't have to let annoying ads drag you down in life. Try to find things positive to do. If
it's that bad, file a formal complaint.

One tile, I won't complain. When I start seeing banner ads for tampons or pop-ups...I'll throw out back in the woodpile. ;-)

Peace, J.R.
