Anyone else given this a try yet?

Played the free trial earlier and its actually pretty cool, much better than the side scroller game a couple years ago.

Seems to be like a fun little puzzle solving game, with some combat involved as well, if your a fan of the show its almost like playing an episode haha.

Probably going to grab it once the price drops a bit. Adventure Time Finn and Jake Investigations :)

    :)

You can buy the "Fallout 4 Season Pass" on the marketplace.

"Adventure Time: Jake and Finn Investigations" has a better and more consistent frame rate.

The last one they released on the 360 was an absolute stinker.

"Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I Don't Know" was really really poor.

Not even a love of the show could save this game.

This new one looks like it could be much better now though and that will be very welcome.

  6. @Brand Yes it's for Xbox one Adventure Time Finn and Jake Investigations :)

And I feel you about the 360 game, it was pretty awful haha. This ones fully 3D, really enjoyed what I played of it.

    And 360...

    And Wii...

    And 3DS...

But it does look a better effort than past attempts.

Adventure Time Finn and Jake Investigations

So after spending a little time with this game I can honestly say this is probably the best "Adventure Time" game they have ever made.

Unfortunately while the show might be fantastic and special to fans... this ticks the "special" box... but it's not the most fantastic of games.

It looks amazing. The 3D models seem a bit weird at first but it's not long before you feel as if you are playing the cartoon itself. The voice acting is all the original cast so it looks and feels just like an "Adventure Time" episode.

The game plays a bit like "Broken Sword". It's a bit of a point and click adventure with some combat thrown in to mix things up a bit. You walk about the area and sparkles indicate things you can interact with. Sometimes there will be conflict and when
    that happens you have fights.

The combat is very basic but suits the show well enough. In these fights as you perform better you build up a double team power with Jake as well as powering up your weapon. You can activate the double team power for massive damage and you can activate
the magic properties of your weapon as well. At the end of the battle you proclaim that you did amazing... Jake says "look at all the money we made" (because apparently this is how you make money) but there is nothing to really give you any idea how well
    or poorly you performed.

The point and click nature of the game works pretty well until you have to do a certain something to progress. It's not too hard to figure out... but sometimes it's pretty hard to figure out.

This figuring out can sap the flow of gameplay as you attempt to try different combinations can really sap the flow of the gameplay as you bang your head against the wall a little.

The game plays very simply. With almost a child like sense of simplicity. Also the game is like Broken Sword or the orginal Resident Evil with sort of a fixed or limited camera view. You have the freedom to move about but you are not in an openworld with
    a 360 degree view.

Early impressions are this is a simply, playfully silly "Adventure Time" game which captures the spirit of the show perfectly... but hinders itself by being too simple in places to be a game adults who enjoy the humour of the show to enjoy... while being
filled with some tasks and requirements that put it beyond the grasp of of a young kids.

As an "Adventure Time" product it's spot on.

As a video game... it's alright but i wouldn't call it 'great'.
