My xbox one has the disc drive defect. Not my fault I didnt make it I have to have 400$ in my bank so they can send me another? Im regretting this whole mess now. Im gonna be without an xbox for how long? Nobody knows. Im glad My work(auto manufacturer)
takes defects serioisly and would never cause the customer any problem. Pfffft I know Exactly why we treat customers the way we do, even if it doesnt benefit us. So if my xbox gets lost in the mail.....jeeze

He didn't say he didn't have the $400 JW, rather he questioned why Microsoft need the money to be there to quickly get him a replacement console. It is after all through no fault of his that the disc drive is faulty.

 

^Thanks for translating. I honestly had no idea what he was talking about. To answer his question, Microsoft refurbishes your broken console and ships it off to someone else.

They place a hold on your credit card to ensure that you will send your broken console in for repair, and to cover the cost of the new one they sent you if you don't.

How completely ignorant would Microsoft need to be to just send out free brand new consoles to everyone who needed repair and just hoped they sent the broken one in.

 

It does make you wonder how much of a problem theft was that Microsoft felt the need to do this.

It does seem a real shame that genuine customers have to be locked out from $400 of their money because others want to steal.

 

It would be such a blatant opportunity to scam a free console that it seems perfectly reasonable to me

 

I just had my Xbox repaired due to the disc drive not working and i never had to do this. I package it up, got my mailing label and UPS showed up on my door. Was delivered fixed and good 6 days later by UPS on my door. So i can't understand why you can't
just send it in like i did. No balance in the bank needed at all.

If you can't wait for that week of repair being without the Xbox, then i can understand they need the reserve bank balance as a safety for reason mentioned above. But i would just wait for the repair time.

 

All manufacturers do this with advanced replacement , has nothing to do with M$

Yeah, my point was why am i taking the risk. It is their problem. I am in manufacturers warranty, so why dont they exchange their trash at the store. Also the hours of downloading games and headache this *** is. 500$ unit this should have never happend..

^^Uhh that analogy doesn't apply here. Why would a person put the entire cost of their car down for your company to fix the car? Are you guys giving out brand new cars instead of fixing them? Because in your situation MS wanting $400 to send you a new console
is perfectly reasonable. They dont want the money to fix your console, they want it to send you a new one.
