    I have read all the posts about changing the Microsoft Xbox account from child to adult but my grandson who just turned 18 is under the impression because his mother pays for it that he will lose every game he has bought and all his progress since the age of six because he wants to be able to transfer everything into his own name and account and pay for it himself. Is there a way to do that without losing his Xbox gaming history? Thank you much!

    The adult account need to upgrade to adult or wait until the child account becomes adult in prder to change it...

    The only way to keep everything is by continuing to use the account he is using. If it was created using his mother's email, etc. instead of her creating a child account for him, then it would have to keep her information since it's technically her account. If he creates a new one, he will have to start over. Nothing can be transferred between accounts.

    In that case you already do NOT have any control over the account anymore.

    As soon as an account is deemed to be an adult account (determined by the birthdate entered when the account was created), the account can leave the family, and set their own online and privacy settings.

    There is no way to control an adult account with another adult account.

    Only child accounts can be controlled by an adult account. And if your kid is using an adult account, they are regarded as being adults.

    Adult as in the age of the account has to be 18. Setting your account to adult but having a non adult age will not allow your to change it.
