Adult Account still counted as a child account.

I have changed my account to an adult account and the age on it is also 18. however when trying to use the Xbox insider Hub is states that im not considered an adult. I Changed everything so its not restricted but it still is.

Motivation

The family pack is good but does come with the limitation that only one account is counted as "adult".

Cross-platform for child accounts don't work, no matter what settings I set

The cross-platform setting does not enable on a child account.

I have tried several options including:

Account setup as a child in the MS family account and Xbox

Account setup as a child in the MS family account but the Xbox settings all set to adult/unrestricted

Account setup with over 18 Date of Birth in the MS family account but still a Child and the Xbox settings all set to adult/unrestricted

Account setup as Adult in the MS family account and Xbox settings all set to adult/unrestricted

Changing the child account to Adult and Xbox settings all set to adult/unrestricted.

Can someone help me how to set up my kid's accounts so they can play together?

When the account is first created and is used on an Xbox, it takes the date of birth that was entered and uses that to set the account's "age". It's locked in and cannot be changed, even if you go to the Microsoft account website and change it. It will
then age at the same rate as the user, so if set properly, it will turn 18 and become and adult on the same day the account owner does.

Unfortuately, I don't believe much can be done to fix the date. You can contact
Xbox Live Support and see what they can do, but I would not get my hopes up.

Not sure if xbox is still doing this, but last I remember your account age is set in stone upon creating gamertag. You can change the age after but it only changes what is visibly seen. For example if you
create a account right now and it's under the age of 18 then you'll have to wait it out or make a new account.

This is how it was when I was younger then 18 and it probably hasn't changed. Sorry that this doesn't help. You can try talking to support, but I'm not sure that would help.

It is not possible to change the age of an account once it has been created. It is possible to promote a child account to an adult count, but the age of the account has to be 18.

Hi Hendo,

Thanks for coming to the forums. If the account is still a child it is recommended to keep the adult account assigned to the family until the child account graduates to an adult account. If you are an adult and made a child account in error there is

ways you can prove your age. As on Xbox.com you are unable to change the birthdate at all.
