adult account shows as child

Hi

I am been communicating with Microsoft Answer Tech via chat and have been redirected here with the reference number reference
[Mod Removed].

The Answer tech support said "You may put on the post that you are having error in accessing the settings part of your Xbox account and you have already tried adding a dummy parent account and it still did not work".

Promoted Child to Adult, but XBox won't update account

I recently updated a child account to an adult account via the Microsoft website. My Xbox still shows the account as a child account. I have removed the account from my Xbox and re-added the account, but that has not solved my problem. How do I force
my Xbox to recognize the account as an adult account now?

Unable to change child account settings, or even find them.

After an hour of just figuring out what parental controls were, and how to edit them, I finally got to the point where you should be able to edit a child accounts settings.

I logged in as my adult account, added the child account (I know it's connected because it shows it on the "family" page. After navigating to, "Privacy & online safety" I finally found the page where I was supposed to be able to edit the child accounts settings...

However, instead of showing the gamer tags (profiles) of both the accounts, it
only shows the tag for the adult account, the one I was logged in as.

I tried simply editing the settings for the adult account, but they didn't effect the child account. I also tried the ambassador chat thing, and I got no response.

Does anyone have any clue as to what I'm doing wrong here?

Hey Primexception! I would suggest adding the child account as an adult to your family. To do this, login with your dummy parent account and access your family page at

Accounts.Microsoft.com. Using the adult account, remove your child account, now add it again as an adult. This way that account should be able to change their own settings. If this doesn't resolve the issue please post back and let us know!

Each child account Has to have an adult account attached to it.

Have you tried signing into your account at account.microsoft.com/family and seeing if it is showing up there as a child account under a family with an adult account attached to it?

But i am not a child! And i have no child account, my ms-account is adult,
only on the XBOX360 my account is child, not on the XBO not on MS.

And ich have since yesterday two errors 8C150009 and 801540C.

im having the same problem my daughter is now 18 but we can not find the promote account in account settings she has gta and some other games and there was alot of money spent on add ons and game money that would just go down the drain

Once a birthdate has been set for an account it can not be changed until the account birthdate set has reached 18. Then you can promote your account. The only solution is to create a new account with the correct birthdate information. Here is how to
