Ads On My Xbox Home Screen - Disappointing

Today I started my Xbox. Low and behold there is a tile on my home screen.. an Ad for AT&T Fiber Internet. This is a huge disappointment. I did not buy an Xbox to be served Ads! What a bunch of crap Microsoft.

I understand if I'm browsing the web, but this is a game console I've paid for. Live service I'm subscribing to and games I continue to purchase. I don't want to see Ads for anything other than Xbox on my console. I have no problem with you advertising
games, promotions and accessories, but I don't want to see Ads for other goods and services.

What's next? Shoes and purses for my wife. PLEASE remain focused and keep your content relevant to the platform. No one like Ads, and we don't own Xbox's so you can force other goods and services down our throats. This has really soured my experience
as a first time Xbox customer.

Xbox One Home Screen Ads

Is the a way to turn off ads on XB1 Home screen yet, or is my XB1 still a fancy billboard?

They generally show ads that have some relation to video gaming or technology, or even video game related promotions on other goods like junky foodstuffs and other stuff. Don't you want wonderful fiber internet by such a reliable and trustworthy company
like AT&T?

Microsoft basically has the right to put practically whatever they want on the Xbox page. Ads pay those bills and employee wages, as well as buy ol' Billy Gates another hot-pink Ferrari.

If you look on the bright side, ads have been a lot less aggressive on the Xbox One since the Xbox 360. On the older console, half of the tiles you saw on every category page was ads. On the Xbox One, it's just one or two small tiles on the right side.

I Dark Wave I

all I see on my home screen are ads related to games and Xbox offers. it maybe different from region to another.

and the way the ads show are not annoying in my opinion, they do not take a large part of the home screen and do not force me to click on them and they not show in every tab.

To you they are not intrusive. To me, a paying customer, they are intrusive. xbox is being greedy. I dont want ads on my screen. I pay for PLAYSTATION services also. Guess what isnt on my home screen.. ads.

Just tried my new remote this morning and exactly the same issue. The menu button works on the Xbox home screen - so I can bring up the context menu on a selected app. But nothing while watching a blu-ray.

As a media box the Xbox is full of disappointments and this just adds to it. I'm seriously considering adding my PS3 back into my setup for media.

I'm going to contact support regarding the menu button issue.
