Adobe Flash Player

Ok I love my Xbox One but the fact that they do not have some form of Adobe Flash Player compatible with a gaming system that runs off of Windows 8 completely baffles me. My wife and I tried to go back through Internet Explorer on Xbox One and watch the
episode of Criminal Minds from two weeks ago because it was pre empted by a college basketball game. Don't get me wrong I did not mind the ball game because one of the teams that were playing is where I graduated from. However, it still cut half the episode
off when it recorded early the next morning. Please institute an Adobe Flash Player Add on for Xbox One so we can watch episodes through CBS website when this happens. We should not have to pay $2.99 for an episode that is available otherwise free of charge
whether you have cable or not.

Adobe have pretty much stopped work on Flash for anything but Windows, so I can't see them even bothering with console versions.

I expect that they see the world is switching to HTML5 for video needs. After all why would you restrict user content on your site to those who can install a third party software.

Ok i don't understand why xbox one isn't able to run video that needs adobe flash player. For the first time today i tried to watch some movies on my flixster account on xbox on and it just says please install the latest version of adobe flash player. My
2 year old phone has adobe flash player so why doesn't my 14 month old xbox one have this feature and are we ever likely to get it in an update?

Yeah if you are watching porn the yes it is a security hole but if you are stupid enough to do that then that is your own fault not everyone else. Besides if it was that big of security risk why is it required for 95 % of video players on PC.

to make up statistics that cannot be verified.

Web video has been moving to HTML5 for a while now. Flash doesn't exist on iPhone/iPad and those play video for many sites just fine.

Like I said, yell at CBS for not providing a more up to date streaming option. Oh, and don't think that Flash would just magically get you access to legitimate video streaming websites. Many block devices that aren't PCs, Hulu being one of them.

 

Did I say anything about Apple products of any kind? No I did not. All I did was state that I think that in this day and age that consoles are severely limited to what they can do streaming wise with respect to websites on the web. I am not going to argue
about this as that is the only time you seem to pop up in threads is to start crap. It does not have to be Adobe Flash Player. My main point is it is beyond sad that this day and age that they have not made it to where you can watch streaming content through
websites with out having an Xbox or PS backed app for it.

Yes, "they" have. That "they" is not Microsoft, it's the content providers. Flash or no Flash will not change that.

 

i dont give a rats *** if html5 is the future. I don't live in the future. Damn near half the internet runs on flash so every other site is "broken" if you don't have flash player. Hell, I won't update my android version since it breaks flash. It's a
stupid battle with the consumer stuck in the middle of it.

 

Adobe refuse to make flash for most devices including consoles, they are trying to get rid of it as it causes them a massive expense and headache and they want to dump it. Hope that answers your question as flash is dead and good riddance to that resource
hogging security risk.

 

Send your feedback to ADOBE.... Or use HTML5 sites.....

Also erstens ist es eine Absolute frechheitn seiten Microsoft, dass der Die Xbox One scheinbar immer schlechter wird, anstatt sich zu verbessern. Zum beispiel darf ich als Österreicher mich dafür entscheiden, Kinect sprchbefehle zu geben oder Spiel zu spieln
die nicht in Deutschland geprüft wurden, gehts noch ich glaube ich darf wohl entscheiden wie ich die konsole nutzen will... Das selbe ist es mit dem Streamen von Serien etc, bis vor kurzem ging Divx noch und nach einem Update funktionieren weder flash inhalte
noch Divx formate.....

Danke Microsoft, das ihr mir gezeit habt wie falsch ich mich letztes jahr entscheiden habe...

 

I wouldn't say dead...more like lingering in pain because someone won't pull the plug. Let flash die in dignity people. It led a good life and just wants peace.
