Administration of child account

Dear Microsoft Support Team,

I am writing to request your assistance in connecting my son's account to my own. I would like to link it to my account to my son's account. I had previously registered my son's account under my own account, but my original account was blocked in 2022. I have since registered a new account with the same email address, but I am unable to administer my son's account.

I believe that my son's account is still associated with my original account, but Microsoft does not recognize it as such. I would greatly appreciate your guidance in resolving this issue and linking our accounts together. Please let me know what steps I need to take to ensure that my son can access his account and services under my new account.

Olá Marina, you mention that your original account was blocked, you lost access to it, it was hacked or had some kind of suspension or ban?

Because if your child's account is still linked to it you will need access to it so you can remove it and link to another account.

Im having same exact issue. I want to leave this account to him but change the settings to child and make a new account as the administrator so I can set screen time limits

Hi there, unfortunately, I don't believe it would be possible to set an administrator account to a child account, since the point is to be able to control and set limits for your child. However, I think it would be an interesting addition to adult accounts.
In the meantime, if the feature isn't added, might I recommend using the timer that is available on your phone to help manage gaming time?

Family Organizer Account: Ensure that you are logged in with the Microsoft account that serves as the Family Organizer. Only the Family Organizer has the authority to manage family settings.

Family Safety Website: Visit the Microsoft Family Safety website (https://account.microsoft.com/family/) and sign in with your Family Organizer account.

Account Management: Locate your child's account within the family group and click on it. Look for options related to account management or permissions.

Admin Privileges: Review the settings and permissions assigned to your child's account. There might be an option to grant administrative privileges or elevate their account to the administrator level.

I purchased Minecraft for Windows 10 when it last year. My son's computers are setup with me as the administrator and they are family/child accounts. If I login and download the game, then they can login later and play the game. I am not sure what the
limit is but all three computers are under my Microsoft account. I have not tried it with any other games.
