  1. Adjustable volume balance for hard of hearing people

I'm really hard of hearing on my left ear. It would be handy if they could add a way to adjust the balance, so I can have the volume raised on my partly-deaf side without damaging my other ear. Playing games that require you to actually have great hearing is a pain. Especially when you have no idea which side the enemy is coming.

As I'm sure a lot of other people have this problem too.

Sorry to hear it. I'd recommend checking the headset settings to make sure the sound settings are adjusted properly. If there is no option for balance/volume on the headset then use the console volume settings to adjust your settings.

    After new headset

A few people have been hit with this party bug lately which doesn't help if you've got a new headset.

    - You join the chat.

    - You don't have a mic icon.

    - You can't hear anything, they can't hear you.

    Solution:

    - Hard reset the XBox.

    - Fire it up again and join party chat before you fire up a game.

Let us know if that helps.

Also the "Game / Voice Balance" can be a little confusing.

To hear people better while playing and chatting don't adjust the volume... instead adjust the bottom left button on your Chat Adaptor which has a picture of a person until you hear the voices ok.

This decreases game volume and increases their volume.

Then use the volume + and - symbols to make the overall volume acceptable.

Let us know how you get on.

Party Chat is to loud, even on lowest setting.

Perhaps you need to adjust the balance for in game sound to be higher in the volume mixer.

    Microphone input is extremely low

No, other people can't hear me at all. That's the issue. The audio input volume isn't properly being recorded, and the headset doesn't have a slider to adjust this.

    What Headset do you use?

SteelSeries Arctis 9X (for the Xbox)

    • Wireless connection straight to Xbox, no dongle needed
    • Can adjust game volume and chat volume balance
    • Up to 20hr battery life
    • Retractable mic
    • EQ presets
    • Can simultaneously be connected to Xbox and a Bluetooth device

(This is great for when communicating with group through Discord on phone/computer while playing/hearing your game)
