Just had my third, and what's going to be my final xbox red ring me. It's a limited edition R2D2 xbox 360 and the terabyte hard drive decided to unformat itself. I reformatted it at the cost of ALL my game data (half that terabyte, thousands and thousands
of hours gone), just to have the drive completely choke and die on me less than two weeks later.

I've had enough of Microsoft's products up and dying after warranty, no matter how well I maintain them. Just for comparison, I still play my Nintendo DS, the original from 2004, and it works like a charm. Need more? My Playstation 2 and
both memory cards have outlived all of my xbox machines. Maybe take some notes Microsoft.

Not that Microsoft could actually be bothered about the 360, or upset customers period, but I had to get that out. See y'all on Playstation 4!

    :)

Sorry about your problem. To my knowledge though, Microsoft has never released an official 360 hard drive higher than 500GB. Your drive sounds like an unofficial hard drive. Microsoft didn't make it, so they can't be responsible for it un-formatting itself.

Yeah. I have that model of Xbox too and it was released before there was even a 500gb hard drive available. So it wouldn't have come with a 1TB.

Wish i'd only been through 3 xbox 360's,think I've had to send various 360's off a total of 13 times for repairs.

Only ever had the rrod once though.

My bad, in my blind rage over my limited edition console becoming a glorified DVD player, I got my drives mixed up. Just pulled it out and it's the 320GB that came with, and is now total junk. It's 40 bucks for a new hard drive, and they tell me my 250GB
drive is worth about 6 bucks and my consoles are barely 30 each, long story short I'm tired of paying Microsoft to make machines that can't even outlast the price tag.

Who's "they"? Consoles, especial those limited edition ones, sell for way more than that used on eBay. I see them selling for $120 without games, hard drive, or controllers right now.
