    Hi there,

be sure to check the privacy and online safety settings at
    http://account.xbox.com/settings

if your account is a Child account these settings need to be checked by the parental account.

Also be sure to check if the Gold subscription shows at
    http://account.microsoft.com/services

If the gold subscription does show and the privacy and online safety are all correct then be sure to sign out and back in again.

Also keep in mind that when the privacy and online safety settings are changed you will have to sign out of the profile and sign back in again.

Also try the manual power cycle steps like mentioned on the following link, be sure to wait at least 60 seconds before powering on again:

    Let us know the results

The message you've been getting has nothing to do with network ports, or another word for ports would be services.

Each account on an Xbox 360 console has to have a gold subscription, to be able to play different titles in multiplayer.

Please verify that both accounts are tied to Xbox Live gold.

try removing the account from the console, doing a hard restart, hold the power button for 10 seconds while the system is on, and then re-adding the account
